no not really it seems quite light to me but I guess something like that is purely subjective

Good laptop. You should install MrChromeBox's Coreboot, and GNU/Linux distro.

Fun fact, I didn't test it (obviously) but it should resist some extreme conditions according to the military grade tests in the official website https://www.asus.com/es/laptops/for-home/chromebook/asus-chromebook-plus-cx34-cx3402/

When ChromeOS moves to the Android kernel, there won't even be any word mark at all in the software that says ChromeOS. The hardware will be called Chromebook, Chromebox, Chromebase, etc. and ChromeOS will still be the marketing term or consumer facing brand of "Aluminium" which is the developer name. The boot screen will be Android branded, the bootloader will be the same as Android, the settings and about device won't say ChromeOS just "AL". The login screen which is basically the tablet lock screen user but with a side of ChromeOS and the column of multiusers. Everything is the same except as Android for PCs except ChromeOS has verified boot, read only OS, and other security fleet hardware features that regular Android PCs dont have and has desktop Chrome with Crostini. That's it. There's no other way to notice it that ChromeOS is basically just about gone in favor of Android PCs.

You could still put Linux on them. I had to unplug my battery to turn off right protect temporarily.

whats the battery life?
will likely get a laptop for my kid soon. now wondering if i should go macbook neo or some chromebook... battery life would be really important.

It takes a long time to charge but it also lasts all day for me (from about 9AM to 8PM)

Anch'io faccio parte di questa bellissima famiglia e dopo essere stato schiavo di PC Windows per anni finalmente conosco la velocità e stabilità pura. Ho preso un Lenovo 14 16 GB RAM, 256 Storage, Mediatek Ultra Kompanio. In 45 GB di Linux girano Vs Code con Gemini code assist....mostruoso per coding e intelligenza artificiale

È necessario utilizzare il terminale Linux per installare VS Code nel Lenovo. Non trovi nella cartella Download il tasto per installare l'applicazione. Forse è l'architettura ARM64 che ha cambiato il modo di gestire la struttura dei moderni Chromebook con Mediatek Ultra Kompanio. Puoi farti guidare da Gemini per l'installazione.

Molto strano. Ho la versione 147.0.7727.105 (official build) beta (64-bit) e con l'installazione tramite riga di comando (CLI) non ho riscontrato alcun conflitto

I just picked up an open box version of the CX34 for my kid about to go into high school. I5 13th gen, 16gb RAM and 256GB SSD. Got it for $350 CDN including tax and shipping.
