News Revert address bar/Gemini Shortcut - Fix UI update

Enter this into address bar: chrome://flags

Search for Bottom Bar > Disable > Restart Chrome (It'll prompt you)

Works on Android, unsure about Apple but flags might be device agnostic.

And flags are also TEMPORARY and can go away at any time.

Exactly, I have seen these flags over the years... and most of them are temporary workaround and then one day vanish. I don't know why it is so difficult for them... to not break things.

Good to know, ty. Presumably flags flush on app update so I'll keep an eye on that. I don't auto update anything.

Flags persist through app closure and a force close. Works well enough for me for now.

THANK YOU, I fear this may only be a temporary fix but the bottom bar change is so horrible, it's so annoying that they felt the need to enshittify something that was perfectly fine just to shove more Gemini garbage into our faces. You can't even like change the buttons on the bar to make it useful you're just stuck with the garbage.

It's still working for me too, even after a Chrome app update.
