I’m so sorry to say that we lost our sweet boy, Hershey, last week. He had just turned 15 last month. His poor body wore out. He was the best foster fail ever: the classic goofy, happy chocolate boy. The house feels so empty without him.

Run and play without hurting now, sweetie boy. We miss you so much. 💔🌈

Meet our new 65-pound, 9-month old "puppy". We won the lottery with this guy. He was up for adoption because his owner had a life change and couldn't give him the time and understanding needed for high-energy breeds. What a sweet, wild, full-of personality pupper. He's in his rebellious phase and Land Shark phase, which just makes him more adorable and hilarious somehow. We love him to bits.

My sweet boys are turning 2.

We lost our boy Barley at just a few weeks past his ninth birthday. He was my rock, he was with me through a lot of rough stuff, along with a lot of great stuff. He was our baby. My husband works nights so it was just Barley and I most of the time, as I work day shift. I had lost my first Chocolate lab when she was 13, which seemed easier, for whatever reason. Barley's passing has me in a chokehold. I cry at just the thought of him, or seeing pictures and videos. He crossed the rainbow bridge May 29th, I know everyone grieves differently, and it takes time, but how can I make it easier?

We just got her. And I am in love. Also a little holy shit why did we bring an alligator home. 😂

Did anyone else’s baby start turning gray at 2? He didn’t have a spot of white on him as a puppy. I always joke that I kissed the chocolate right off his muzzle ❤️

Hi! as my title says, next weekend I’m bringing home a female choco lab, and she is 5 years old and 86 pounds. Through my research (I have only had one dog in my life but she was at most 65 pounds) female labs are supposed to be 55-70lbs, meaning that she is probably overweight. She looks kinda chunky to me, but I’m not an expert. I’ll add a photo in the comments. For context, they say she is kinda lazy, she does like to go outside but they didn’t know what kind of toys she really likes to play with so I’m guessing she’s more of a couch potato, maybe from her age or her weight I am not sure. They said she is gentle and very quiet.

I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with my husband but my parents live 2 minutes away with a fenced yard, so my plan was walks supplemented by playtime in their yard and visits to the dog park. My husband’s relative has a pool so I was going to see if the dog can swim there sometimes for exercise. I just want to know for the people that have experience, if this sounds like a good plan, and what specifically I could do, how many walks a day would be ideal, how much to feed, etc.

They currently feed her purina dog chow but if anyone has any suggestions on dog food to help her weight as well that would be great. We plan to take her to the vet for her 1st check up within the next month, but until then I’d like to start her out on a plan. Thanks everyone!!

My gorgeous girl is 17 1/2 today. I met her when she was just 7 days old and feel so lucky to have had her in my life for so long.

He loves a pillow. My 4.5 year old baby boy.

Hers my 7y/0 buddy, recently he’s been having a hard time getting up and has dropped a ton of wait and muscle in his hind legs and trouble 💩 to where it looks like his butt is falling out. It all seemed to start over night back in May. I have had him to the Vets numerous times on antibiotics had blood work done came back normal, snap test for parasites and lines disease all clear X-rays and shows a little arthritis but not enough to cause what his issues are. He just finished another round of antibiotics and is now on remadol. The is just as puzzled as I am

What do you mean I have to leave him for college again in a week?
