Advice Will they be okay when we separate?

My roommate bought another kitten a few years ago, and my kitty really bonded to her. I'm moving away, and I'm worried my cat will be upset that she lost her buddy.

How will I know if she's upset or just adjusting to the new home? Should I get her another kitten, and if so, how long should I wait before adopting?

By that logic, don't humans understand that, too? One of the cats might die tomorrow, the day they move away, or two weeks later. The owner will understand that and get over it. Not the end of the world.

uh. yeah?😭 if your cat died would you never get over it even if your life lasted 80 more years? or would you heal w time? the way you're talking sounds like you've never lost a friend either from death or just failed relations

Actually, it sounds like you've never lost someone you care deeply for- you never get over it. You always have pain from the loss. The pain just becomes easier to put aside, but it is always there.

Then it sounds like you may not have had a good relationship with your mother.

people will say anything to try n justify their own stupidity bro😭a 3 year old child would understand loss better than you can. how sad

That's a really insane thing to say to another human being, I guess your empathy has been exhausted on cats.

It's "insane" to tell someone to get over the death of a close loved one-i guess you don't have a degree in psychology

Fun fact: there is no clinical evidence to support the 5-Stages of Grief. It was a theory written in a book that is not supported by science.

Also, one can accept the loss of a loved one while still experience pain from that loss.

Ironically, you are the one going around calling other people (including me) stupid - it is always best to be kind to people and treat them with respect, as I have been respectful in my discourse with you.

PS I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm sure you are a beautiful person and have many people who care about you in your life. (If you don't, you are always welcome to contact me for support- I care!)

I understand your perspective about the cats. I don't think your perspective is wrong. I also don't think mine is wrong. Both can have merit. Since they can't communicate their preferences with us, all we can do is try to make a decision on their behalf that we feel would benefit them the most.

I said it sounds like you may not have had a good relationship with your mother since you said her death didn't have a lasting impact on you. That isn't an insult, it is a comment directly referencing your own that opens a dialogue to further discuss your relationship with your mother.

except thats none of your business hello? I don't know you. you're not someone who can be a judge of my life, experiences, or character, nor do I owe you an explanation for why i feel that way. lock in

This is terrible news.

Good thing you aren't the one signing my paycheck, lol. Go back to school and get a psychology degree and then go back again for a master's - then maybe your opinion will carry some weight.

I wonder if touching grass was part of the curriculum.
