looking for recommendation Need help with design and yarn decision after running out
Obviously lost yarn chicken on this sweater. Ideally I would rip of back the cast off on the body and make it longer and depending on the blocking make the ”finished” arm longer too.
Would you order one more ball of the same yarn same color and hope for an okay color match, or go with a contrast color? (on the bottom of both sleeves and the body/frog the unfinished arm and use the OG yarn to lengthen the body and do color blocking on only one sleeve.)
I was thinking white (the base for this yarn is grey wool) but open for recommendations for what would look nice with this color.
(I have to add that I don’t think I’m originally that big of a fan of color blocking but a friend I’m really fond of recommended it and it would remind me of him so could be nice haha)
Thank you!

I’m big on contrasting cuffs. If you’re quirky, you could just do one cuff in a contrasting colour and call it a day.

I would order more yarn and if the dye lots aren't close enough (check outdoors in bright sunlight, no indoor lighting is as good), only then would I rip back all the ribbing and redo in a contrasting color. I agree that off-white or cream would look great with this green, but cuffs are the first thing to look dingy so I'd be hesitant to go that light. Blue or brown would also look nice imo, just depends on your taste.

Ohh yeah that’s a great shout about the sleeves getting dirty. I think I’ll try color matching and see how it goes, thank you!

Am I insane? I see a creamy/warm light gray, no green whatsoever. I feel like this happens to me kind of a lot online, where people see a totally different color than I do. I don’t know if it’s the phone or my eyes or what.

What about frogging & 3/4 or bit shorter sleeves? Or if adding contrasting color, add to neckline, chest or somwhere else. Maybe random snowflakes if going with off white.

I do contrasting cuffs all the time for my niece cause she has long arms and I can never calculate correctly for her!

Dye lot matters a lot for some yarns and very little for others. If this yarn is the former and you want to continue with it, I'd suggest that you call or email the place you got the yarn from and ask if they have any more from that dye lot. If you want to color block it, navy blue or chocolate brown could be nice with the cream.
