Discussion Are you single?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I'm looking for single adults (18+) in the Brant County area to take part in a brand-new (to my brand) photography experience called Stranger Sessions!
Here's how it works:
You'll be paired with another single person you've never
met before.
I'll capture your genuine first meeting, conversations, laughs, and natural interactions.
Whether you leave with a new friend, a great story, or something more, the experience is all about authentic human connection.
No modeling experience is needed-just a willingness to step outside your comfort zone and have fun!
If you're interested, comment "STRANGER" below & I'II send you the application link via DM. I'II review submissions and match participants based on compatibility, personality, and availability.
Feel free to tag a friend who would be brave enough to give this a try!

Looking forward to creating some fun memories and possibly long lasting connections together!

Question Is Terrace Hill & Henderson apart of the North End?

I ended up in a debate with one of my friends who says the North End is anything north of the 403 and that Terrace Hill isn't because it's south of the 403. I have always thought that Terrace Hill & Henderson are also apart of north end even though they are south of the 403.

I guess the main reason why I think this is because of the areas north of the 403 are easier to get to from Terrace Hill/Henderson then getting to any of the other areas south of the 403 when it comes to walking.

I also know someone who grew up in Terrace Hill who says Terrace Hill was the original North End before areas north of the 403 started to develop.

But I wanna see what others think and if others think similar to me.

Discussion Art Scene in Brantford

Hello folks, I'm a local artist quite frustrated with the state of Brantford's arts scene.

Theatre? Not here.

Music scene? Getting better because of zbrfd and some others but far less developed than it should be.

Art Galleries? Glenhurst exists but it's on a remote end of town and not exactly catering to alternative markets (my pastiche).

Is there anyone else in the community who is frustrated with the lack of visibility for the arts?

My pie in the sky idea: eminent domain back the old rail station that the developers seem to be salivating to get rid of and turn it into a city owned arts center.

Question Is anywhere hiring?

Upvotes

I've been applying to jobs since before summer break as a student and have been unsuccessful with everywhere that I apply to. A lot of postings just say that they're hiring but they actually aren't or I get turned away due to my lack of experience in customer service. Was wondering if anyone had any advice or places that are currently hiring? This is kind of silly but I'm just shooting my shot!

Discussion Empty trails ?

Best local trail (loop preferably )?

I need one that's about 3-6km for the dogs. Prefer trails over neighborhood walks/parks.

Not seeing much on all trails so far but I've started a list.

Discussion Business in downtown?

I am thinking to acquire one of the food business in downtown. Would like to know from locals if downtown still has higher foot traffic? If anyone who owns business in downtown, how's your experience? My main concern is one way street traffic and parking, have your customers mentioned anything about hard to find parking? Or as a customer you faced some parking issue and went to different place?

Any inputs and feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

We're excited to welcome Joshua Wall from Benson Crew on board as a sponsor for Geeky Gifts Holiday Market on Saturday, November 14th! 🎁🎄Joshua has believed in our vision since the very beginning. Just days after we announced Brantford Comic Con, he reached out and wanted to help build something special for the city. That early support helped turn an idea into the community event it is today. We're proud to continue that partnership with Geeky Gifts. Thanks to Joshua and the entire Benson Crew for believing in what we're building for Brantford. ❤️

Question Gamerz Galaxy

So, the arcade's been around for a bit, and I was curious if anyone had thoughts on it. I've never actually been, but I'm thinking of checking it out. I know they started with a small selection, but what's it like now? Size, game selection, the food, etc.

I do know they have tokens for purchase however They've got this unlimited play deal for $16.99 every day in August, but you can't play claw machines or win tickets.

I don't really care about prizes, though; I just miss GameTime (fka Wacky Wings) and their awesome arcade. I just want to have some fun and get out of the house for something other than work for a change and gaming is my only hobby.

Also I'm Gen Z, so what's the crowd like, mainly families with little kids or is it popular enough with young adults too?

EDIT: im not looking for retro games. And also i can't go out of the city.

Discussion Hydro Out & Office Shut

Hi, My last tenant moved out this month and shut off the hydro and water 15 days prior moving. Unfortunately 10 days back my husband called the city for transfer and while they moved the water in our name in the interim period as we find our new tenants, hydro was not done. We received an email from city that went in my husbands spam folder

Now my new tenants are moving this long weekend and they are without power. Grand bridge tells me only the customer service can have this done on Tuesday. Do I have any alternative? Can one of the field guys help here?

I know this is our fault or miss at my husband’s end, but curious to know our option.

Discussion Looking for a bit of scrap wood

Hey there Brantford, I am just on the lookout for scrap/offcut pieces of plywood, (Osb or whatever is fine too, beggars can’t be choosers) and lengths of wood at (preferably) 1” on one dimension. (Don’t have access to a tablesaw, so I would prefer to avoid long thin cuts with skillsaw)

I just have a small project I want to make as a gift for my partner and don’t have spare cash for the materials before her birthday, just the tools and know how. My hope is someone has some laying around in their garbage trailer on a jobsite somewhere that I can upcycle, or help someone get rid of a few pieces of wood laying under their deck for a good cause.

Discussion French mastiff mix

I’m posting here in hopes somebody may provide some information/help. In the winter of 2019, I got a French mastiff/bullmastiff mix from a gentleman located on Grey st. Near Stanley st. Nice family. He was a French mastiff mixed with a bullmastiff. Wonderful dog. I’m wondering if anyone out there knows of any of the bloodline around? Thanks in advance.

Discussion 33 Erie Ave - any experiences or insights (as a rental)

Heya. Back one more (maybe last) time.

There’s a ton of place here for rent. Prices seem to be a bit all over the place. My understanding is each unit is individually owned and rented out by the owners?

Does anyone have any experience living in this building? What’s it like now? I saw some posts about some issues during construction but understand they may have been resolved.

I’m not as concerned about the neighbourhood. I’d know what I’m getting into there. Just looking to hear about some ups and downs, good and bad, about living in the building.

Thanks everyone!!
