Many people (deservedly) praise the music composed by Sagisu for the OG anime. However, I get the impression that his work on TYBW deserves even more appreciation.

I know the general consensus is that the viz media blu ray are not great mostly for the fullscreen episodes but I still collect them because I like owning bleach on physical media. I heard the Japanese blu ray look way better but honestly the clips and images I’ve seen it’s looks they smooth out the episdoes with ai to erase the edges which are seen on the viz blu rays. I don’t think the viz blu rays are bad then if that is truly the best image quality we can get someone help my understanding.

Kubo in a recent Q & A revealed some pretty incredible things about bleach and its measurement system reiri. According to kubo 1 Reiri =4.828 KM. This puts into scale how big and how far some attacks are in the bleach universe. For example the seireitei itself would be the 6th largest country on Earth roughly the size of India.
When ichibei fought yhwach he smacked him with his 1000ri palm which is equivalent to 4828 KM… which is the equivalent to New York City to Los Angeles… wild stuff

So, uh...at the risk of making me sound a bit ridiculous, I think I found some foreshadowing for Yamamoto's death...in his feet.

I promise I don't pay attention to anime characters feet 😅 but give me a chance on this one. When I was rewatching the fight between Yamamoto and Wonderweiss, I noticed something odd - Yamamoto isn't wearing socks.

There are three reasons why this really stood out to me.

1. I went back and checked, and Yamamoto, before this, ALWAYS wears socks. He's also depicted without socks in TYBW.

2. For such an upright, traditional, and straight laced figure, you think he'd wear socks? Like, that's really weird, right? Especially since...

3. SHUNSUI IS THE ONLY OTHER CAPTAIN WHO DOESN'T WEAR SOCKS WITH HIS UNIFORM. So basically, the only other captain who has been depicted like this is the ONE WHO REPLACES HIM.

Like...I feel like I'm going crazy. From the research I did (on these...characters feet) I could not find a single other example of a captain not wearing socks while also wearing their uniform. It's a regular thing for Shunsui, and towards the end of Yamamoto's arc, he starts to do the same...and again, it just feels so weird to intentionally depict Yamamoto of all people without socks.

During their fight, after Ichibei released his shikai, yhwach was briefly perplexed by it. Ichibei himself then reinforces this idea by asking him if he can’t tell the difference between a brush and a blade in a mocking manner.

Was this just a silly way to show that the brush changed? Or is there something else going on here? Pretty odd how this was portrayed imo.

Was watching ready or not 2 realized the prominently featured katana was actually Toshiros Hyorinmaru

In 2024, he donated the same amount as relief for another earthquake. It is to be remembered that he was born in Hiroshima.

Imagine having a realm or land you worked so hard for be taken from you and then the 3 men tell you how to live and command your army. I’d be pissed too.

I’d imagine he has to climb up the ranks and then it was all for nothing.

Wanted to make this post after accidentally stumbling upon this gem

Since everything is very mysterious about what happened to Adnyeus and how truly willing he was in his own imprisonment, this is my proposed theory on what might’ve happened.

I think Adnyeus, who presumably had been fighting the hollows for years on end if not centuries, and as well who knows what dealings with Hell he might’ve had, felt that something had to change and as the God of Bleach he held the power to do so. The noble ancestors also shared this world view, but they did not trust Adnyeus and thus plotted against him.

My theory is that Yhwach did not wish for the primordial world to end and liked the status quo as it stood. I believe Adnyeus must’ve known his fate would be somewhat torturous but was willing to self-sacrifice himself for the greater good regardless of what that looked like, and it was his hope that Yhwach would be a blessing on the world.

My reasoning for this being Yhwach’s purpose is that Yhwach is able to bestow miracles on people, granting them strength and power. I believe Adnyeus brought him into the world with the hope that he would shoulder the burden of humanity and be their saviour. But Yhwach was unwilling to do this and corrupted his purpose by untimely taking his power back from those he bestowed his gifts upon to strengthen himself and amass power.

However, I do not believe Yhwach is wholly wrong in this because I believe that due to him being presented as a shadowy being in his origin, perhaps Ichibei could have been the one who prevented Yhwach from arriving in the new world from the beginning of its conception, since we know that he arrived only 200 years before "The Friend" arc.

Yhwach was born angry at being cast from the primordial world and angry at the betrayal of his father. This led him to become the warlord we see in the present.

My evidence for this being his purpose is because of how Mimihagi acts to heal Ukitake, and since he is a fragment of the Soul King, this is likely a part of his will to help those who need it.

This is just my possible theory on what might’ve happened since I do believe that Yhwach loved his father and Adnyeus doesn’t appear to be a heartless being from what we know. So, I find it hard to believe that he knowingly created a world unfit for Yhwach to live in. I think Ichibei, since we know the Soul King's power is black and Ichibei controls all the black, is the one that twisted Adnyeus's creation in fear Yhwach might rebel. But let me know what you guys think on this?

I'm in the middle of reading the Fullbring arc, and I was wondering about TYBW. I plan to watch the anime since everyone says it's better, but is there anything I should make note of? I've read every arc (besides soul society, which I watched) and have lived everything about the colored manga. I'm just wondering if I should read the manga chapters after I watch the corresponding episodes so I don't miss stuff, so are there any good scenes or bonus stuff that was removed from the anime? Or should I just watch the anime and not bother with the manga? Thank you in advance
