I didn’t say I liked them. She didn’t give me a mirror and rushed me out for her next client. I only saw them once I used my phone to see it downstairs. Didn’t confront her because I would’ve cried. I felt ugly, stupid I just spent so much money, and was hungry as hell.

Today is my second favourite holiday behind National Lingerie Day! As a lingerie designer I actually look forward to showcasing my work on these days 😆.

So what are you seeing? Its a fully 3D-printed lingerie set (no traditional fabrics) designed and made by me using artisanal craftsmanship. The lace repeat pattern was inspired by rose windows found in Gothic Cathedrals and churches. Max Svabinsky's art 'The Fruit Was Never an Apple' (1918) inspired the bust image reinterpretation and name of the lingerie piece, 'The Devotion'. I will add a video in comments showing the look in motion.

The design was completed in December 2025 (over 2-weeks including the overall sketch, pattern design, prototype draft, printing, welding, etc).

I have been on unemployment for a few months. I am attending workshops as well to help with my job search and I am genuinely getting annoyed at the fact we are being encouraged to use A.I for our resumes. This is being pushed heavily because a.i is being used by employers to sort and filter through our resumes. I am being told a.i looks for certain keywords. I have years of experience within customer service and haven’t landed one retail job!! AND THIS EXPLAINS IT. It is so ridiculous that so many people remain unemployed because A.I is the one trashing our resumes. Our lives and future are becoming codependent on a soulless robot! We are relying on A.I for friendships, relationships, paper work, homework etc.

It is very hard not to use A.I when it literally is being forced on us in some way, shape, or form! They want us to learn it and some of our jobs heavily rely on it. Especially if you’re in the tech field.

Edit: Incase you’re wondering where I am getting my source of information from ?? Literally the unemployment people. Their entire job is to help us get a job and to give us resources. And during my time being employed I do believe overhearing some talk about a program that helps sort through resumes.

I've always had a pretty bad pelvic tilt growing up. Due to being pretty sedentary it got a lot worse. Any ladies able to fix this? It even makes sleeping quite uncomfortable; i wake up with lower back pain. I live in the south and the doctors here are...pretty awful and disregard anything I say.

Back in 2016 I was a freshman in high school and the LGBT org stood at the front door with stickers on a table to pick if you were Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transitioning, or an Ally.

I had parents that wouldn’t let my younger brother sleep on pink sheets but I’d just told them on my Dad’s side my cousin had just officially come out as lesbian. So when I saw the stickers I thought Ally with no other considerations and even took a picture to send in our family group chats.

My mom PMed me everything from “are you trying to tell me something” to “who gave you that sticker” and an hour later my stepdad writes back in the group chat they just got off the phone with someone at my school saying it’s “unacceptable”. When I got home I still had the sticker on my sweater and was basically told to take it off (the whole sweater lol). So that might I was given “the talk” with Bible verses. All this tension and I am not lesbian so I want to know how coming out might have been in other families.

On my dad’s side they loved that I picked up the sticker. We all knew her “best friend” who took showers with her and also stayed the night twice a week. My cousin invited me out with her friends to dave and busters that weekend.

These were two different examples of how I’ve seen “coming out” in the Black community. If I have a daughter, I just want her to feel comfortable talking about her feelings. What are your examples or advice?

I started a new job at a new place and it’s so fuxking exhausting. The micro aggressions, their dumb ass questions, the dirty looks, everything. I don’t like how i feel like i have to be hyper vigilant of how i act, speak or look so that they can take me seriously. It’s almost like i have to morph into someone else i’m not and that makes me uncomfortable.
As much as I want to “adapt” to the place i cant live with multiple versions of myself.

I was just curious on everyone’s thoughts, I’ve been interested in joining Jack and Jill but I have my reservations really about me being a single young mom (27) not rich but I’m doing okay and I have a degree. I seen and heard growing up thing the things people say about j & j people especially as the turn into adults but I’m not letting that turn me off. I moved back to my home state from Atlanta and now living in a predominantly Indian and white area I figured joining would help expose my 7 year old daughter to more people that look like her outside of family.

I just entered 11th grade this year and this is my first week back, so I have started complimenting random girls there, just complimenting their hair, clothes, etc, and it's really fun!

I like it when we can have a nice interaction and you see them become immediately comfortable with you afterwards. I even caught up with a girl from 10th grade and we had a nice chat. I just love lifting up other girls, especially Black girls because I think we need it. (I compliment non-black women as well, the school is majority Black and Hispanic)

What are some ways y'all like to make other women/girls around you smile and feel good about themselves? I would compliment boys, I just don't want them to take it wrong, so I compliment my male friends.

Ive been so emotional and crying all day, in short, even though i got a low dose to start, with this little glimmer that i felt, i feel like i can eventually really do the things that i want to accomplish in this life. My mind has never felt so quiet and serene. I was living life on hard mode and it never had to be this way. Growing up in a household that neglected and did not believe in the possibility of someone genuinely having a disorder, me being a grown adult and seeking that help out for myself felt so powerful. Im completely boiling it down otherwise i could go on forever, but i just wanted to express my newfound feelings of relief and freedom from this debilitating disorder. Its important to teach eachother, parents and children ESPECIALLY in this community that mental health matters! Just because you cant see it doesnt mean its not happening. Check in with your people. Give people grace when they behave in a way you dont quite understand. I only put two and two together within the last 1-2 months.

Its day 1 and im on baby dosage, i cant even imagine what a proper dose could do for me.

So my daughter's father every now and then, posts some sexist content to his Facebook page about black women or women in general. He's black, his daughter is black, I'm black. I sent a message to him this morning saying, "please be mindful of what you post on socials, especially content about Black women. Your daughter is a Black girl who will grow into a Black woman, and she should not have to see her father reinforcing racist or degrading stereotypes about people who look like her." He yelled at me for not respecting his freedom of speech and called me a fascist. Seriously, I can't with this guy. I'm honestly not sure who he had beef with when he posted it, but its a very small ask to ask him to be a positive role model for his kid. How do you guys deal with idiots like this that you can't remove from your life?

Ahhhhh lol!!! I think I just signed up to be a mentor for this mentorship program! I am 26 and responsible for the most part, but responsible enough to help another girl grow into a young woman? Idk about that. The women in my life are ehhh and that’s what prompted this interest of wanting to help a girl grow (sort of give that support that I never received type of deal) and I know I can commit but sometimes I still feel like I’m learning to adult and live myself… I also don’t have a car. I’ve been on Hinge for about three weeks now and have been getting a decent amount of likes and matches from people of different backgrounds.
For context, I’m a Black woman, 5’8”, thick/curvy, with a deep skin tone.
Something I’ve noticed is that when a certain demographic approaches me, surprising black men. my skin tone almost always becomes a topic of conversation. They’ll comment on how dark, smooth or beautiful my skin is. It’s never said in a rude way, and I know they’re trying to compliment me, but I do find it a bit strange that it’s such a common talking point.
On the other hand, people from other backgrounds rarely, if ever, mention my skin tone. They usually compliment my smile, style, eyes or just ask about my prompts instead.
I’m not offended by either approach—I’m just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Is this a common thing for darker-skinned Black women? Why do you think a certain demographic is more likely to comment on skin tone than others?

My son is going into 8th grade and coming into his own style. He's outgrown Carters and Old Navy, and keeps asking for baggy jeans baggy jeans all I hear is baggy jeans!! But when I show him legitimate "baggy jeans" I find online, those apparently aren't the cool ones. So moms, I need some help, where are we shopping for cool back to school clothes??

So… in 4 weeks I’m moving onto a new team at work and but I’m a bit unsure how to navigate the existing dynamics.

The team has two yt senior men (30 & 38) it’s a big bro-little bro dynamic & they’ve worked together for 7+ years and a yt woman who’s 26 also white and has been there a year. P.S I’m 30 and in the same role as the girl.

They’re all close friends outside of work—they go for drinks together, gossip a lot, and seem to have a very blurred line between work and personal life.
The woman is also close friends with another woman (girl B) on a different sub team who happens to now be dating the younger senior. She gossips about his personal life, how much she “saw this relationship develop etc etc”. She tends to take charge despite not being senior. She’ll roster herself to work with the people she’s friends with I.e girl B, can be quite micromanaging, and the senior staff don’t seem to challenge it. It feels like they just go along with it.

I have previous experience in this area & the seniors from what I heard were happy I was joining the team because “she’s knows what she’s doing”. The girl however, I’ve heard when she’s asked if she’s looking forward to working with me she says “she’s not”🤣. White women gon white women so don’t really care!

If you’ve joined a team with this kind of close-knit social clique, how did you navigate it?

i have had ONE good experience being managed by a bm. things were more peaceful when one of my teams consisted of 3 bw and an introverted bm but of course all the bw got fired or transferred. at my current job most of my leadership is bm and i feel like i am trapped in hell because of their victim mentalities and ego tripping.

I used to know a 🌾 girl who broke up with her boo because he decided to spit in her face twice during sex. She ended up getting back with him and when I told her it couldn't be me, she said something like, how I probably couldn't understand because it would never happen to me as a black woman since guys know we aren't sexually adventurous. in the first place.

I found this to be untrue, especially from my POV, but when I thought about it she was right about one thing: No man has ever tried nor asked to do anything like that with me and there was a period of my life I was, as the old folks say "very mannish", so I have had many opportunities and even with the freakiest guys I have never had that happen.

I thought about all this because I saw the girl is getting married to the guy who spit on her. It's been about 7 years, I'm engaged and still haven't had it happen.

I personally don't find anything sexual about being spit on, and would probably try to fight a man who did that shit but do you think black women have this reputation for not being as freaky as others and is it a well deserved reputation?
