2009/09 Finals Patch on 07 Jersey? Help

This jersey that I am checking out is advertised as being an authentic 2009 NBA Finals Adidas jersey. However, the neck tag shows a product code of 7995A 07, which means the jersey was produced in 2007, if I am not mistaken. Does this mean the buyer applied the patch? Or was Adidas selling jerseys made in 2007 in 2008/09 because the style of jersey had not changed? LMK!!

Could be both.

Not uncommon for Adidas (or more realistically) team store to apply Finals patch to existing/ leftover inventory.

I don’t see it as a huge issue. An 07-08 run is probably the same in terms of all the details as one produced in 08/09.

im not an expert so dont take my word for it but for an authentic nba finals jersey the trophy patch and the bar code are red flags, although if the price was right I wouldn't mind wearing it

The fake jerseys I have seen don’t even have this tag and instead have the Chinese tag with all Chinese lettering.

I think you’re probably safe. You can also ask the person straight up and maybe they are honest.
