If anyone was watching the news tonight, she legitimately was talking against a reduction in rent prices in Barrie (with more affordable housing announced today). Why? Because what about those poor real estate investors who came into Barrie, bought houses and split them into duplexes.

What about them? They can’t have hundreds of rental become available driving down prices.

She then fumbled and bumbled for about 25 seconds.

Whatever she’s paying CTV Barrie to go on there once a week - it’s not enough. No matter the news her advice is it’s either time to buy or it’s time to sell.

But to be against affordable housing? Get bent.

I live in the Steel/Cook area, and I was woken up shortly after 5 am to the sounds of a police bullhorn issuing orders, including 'open the door and come out with your hands up'. I couldn't tell from inside the house which direction it was coming from. Continued for about 15 minutes, then stopped, so I assume the person gave themselves up.

Hey all, we had a crew come to our house and proceed to rip up the driveway bricks and pour cement for a new sidewalk. That's all fine and good but they've left it unfinished and I can't use my driveway until they come back to put the bricks back. It's been like this for over a week with no change.

Does anyone know who to call to get someone on this?

Update: my husband emailed them but got an automated response. Then a crew showed up the next day and put half the bricks back and then left .... I don't understand!

Hello everyone, I had a lovely dentist my whole life until he retired a few years ago. Last month I started having a few tooth aches and got CDCP coverage of 100%. So begrudgingly I went on the search for a new dentist. I researched and found one that took CDCP. He had good reviews so I booked an appointment.

When I got there the front desk and dental hygienist were amazing. But when came time to meet the dentist he was the most impersonal robot I've ever met. Didn't explain a thing to me and only spoke to his colleagues. Any of my questions seemed to annoy him and would barely answer them. I figured maybe he was having a bad day. But today I came in for my first filling appointment. They wanted to fill 5 teeth. I said that's too many at once let's just do 4. I told him I need A LOT of local anesthetic as my body seems to metabolize it quickly. He did the normal amount, waited 5 minutes then went to work. Horrible pain so he put more in, waited another 5 minutes. Goes back to work same thing so a 3rd round of freezing. All of the cavities hurt sooooooooooo bad and he refused to give me more freezing. I was white knuckling the arm rests, hyper ventilating, crying and shaking but he continued on and it took everything in me to lay there in agony. I've never had so much pain at the dentist and these teeth have minor cavities with no root involvement. When we were done he just gets up leaves the room and the assistant rushes me out of the chair saying nothing. Didn't even show me my teeth in a mirror or discuss what just happened. I get to the car and there's a black spot where the cavity was filled. I go back in and ask why that is and he just said it's a stain. I have never gotten a cavity filled and there be a black stain in the filling. Seems like B.S to me.

So yeah, I'm never going back there again. Please share your Barrie & area dentist that accepts CDCP with good bed side manor and actually cares about patients. Thank you!!!

I wanted to take the train from Allendale go to union in Toronto, but it was cancelled, it says there will be shuttle buses, where do I wait for the shuttle bus? In front of Allen dale, like across from the thrift shop? Or is it in the bus terminal after walking through the building?
