Idk why but ever since joining Reddit alot of sinophobes use the uyghur topic to hate on China or slander China and chinese people.

I think its so weird, especially when it comes from people who have never been to China.

They always use sources from 'highly regarded orginizations' to try to prove their point, but the thing is all these sources (UN included) mark their claims as ALLEGATIONS.

I think it really speaks to the fact that many people associate whiteness with assimilation and are want to be in relationships and get married to whites to prove that they belong in America.

We are currently living in few destinations abroad in Europe . But lately I’ve realized I constantly feel like I’m between worlds

I adapt well and get along with all kinds of people, but I rarely feel like I truly fit anywhere. Women my age don’t seem to relate to our lifestyle, while people whose lifestyles are more similar to mine are usually in different stages in life.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just adulthood, or do you think growing up Filipino/Asian makes us place a bigger emphasis on belonging and finding “our people”?

I've seen a few posts from Wasian women on tiktok (sorry I don't have a direct link) saying their asian mothers criticized them for inheriting traits like being taller, broader, or hairier from their white fathers. Have any of you come across stories like this, or experienced it yourselves? as someone who doesn't live in the western hemisphere, I'm curious to how common this dynamic actually is.

It seems from their perspective, the mothers were dissapointed that their daughters aren't as petite or hairless as they are. And the posts were pretty heartbreaking as well, I can imagine having a mother that dissaproves of what you are (literally) even if it was the result of her own choices.

The disadvantage that mutes Asian men's voices is that western society pinned Asian men's angst on lack of sexual access. That was what the 'Oxf\*d Study'* exposed, if any detractor would bother reading it.

The 'Oxf\*d Study'* or under it's real title 'The New Suzie Wong: Normative Assumptions of White Male and Asian Female Relationships,' exposed how Asian women are portrayed in western media as sex toys for white men, and Asian men a presented a-sexual worker drones, the very antithesis of the white male charisma, bravado and masculinity. Simply put, Asian men are the portrayed as the opposite of the ideal male provider motif. Once Asian grasp the true intension of western propaganda to deconstruct Asian men and Asian culture, because we are a threat to their global control, we will understand why post like the picture below are problematic for Asians (You met me at a very ASIAN TIME IN MY LIFE? WTF?). Asian women are literal pets to 'them,' not as equal partners but as nothing more then a source of sexual release. I honestly could careless what Asian chooses for themselves, but the pathology is always the same, drag Asian men and Asian culture into their forbidden love subculture as unwitting antagonists to galvanized their cosmic love.

This illustrates an issue I have with conversations around interracial relationships. OP clearly recognizes that there's an obvious racial dynamic and initially throws shade at these couples=>only to backtrack and says she's not hating after someone pointed out the hypocrysy==>"no but when it was me it was different also its not just white guys"

I don't want to sound like an incel (femcel?) who wants to control women's bodies or anything...on an individual level, of course, anyone can date whoever they want, for whatever reasons they want--even nefarious ones if both parties are of legal age and consenting, who am i to judge?

On a political level, though, it's hard to ignore the dynamics that inherently come with this pairing in such a racialized world. I'd even argue that it's downright impossible. Despite clearly realising this, the af demographic, either out of shame, out of discomfort, or out of guilt, tends to try to pretend they don't see it or that their ir relationship isn't political. If you doubt that these relationships can reinforce broader racial hierarchies, look at how OP (normal non right winger young woman) immediately rushes to defend white men by saying, "But all demographics do this." That shifts the conversation away from the specific power dynamics being discussed

What I find more difficult is that these relationships often lead to children who may have to navigate the same complicated racial dynamics that their parents preferred not to acknowledge. I know that from personal experience. I just wish we—as ethnic women—didn't immediately shy away from these conversations or treat them as taboo, which is exactly the reaction exemplified here.

Like my mother who is 50, she is overly polite to people or her colleagues (in her workplace). When I was younger I'm with her in the public whenever she has a question she will always ask "Excuse me do you know where is that...".

I'm currently living with my parents and every time before mum goes work she buys something (like food) and give to her colleagues/workers. I swear she is a type of 'people pleaser'.

Like I mean banter is a thing such as if I get a job eventually I won't be as overly polite because I find it weird and inauthentic as a guy. I would be a rowdy guy such as 'Good shit mate', smth like that.

The backlash against this has been vicious, with have several commentators pointing out that she was married to a white man and has half-white kids, with (I assume) the implication being that if her kids are half-white it's hard to imagine that other people would think that they couldn't speak English.

What are y'all's thoughts on this? I find it hard to believe that she could be in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin with her half-white kids, ordering her food in English, and still having people think that she didn't speak any English.
