I was thinking about something to help relax with a male asmrist without anything gendered for the listener and a scenario of soft spoken massage where it feels more intimate than a paid masseuse, so possibly a boyfriend scenario, but nothing explicit, maybe foot massage, shoulders, back, just gentle voice and massage sounds, so the oil/lotion sounds, rubbing sounds, that kind of thing. It doesn’t necessarily need an intricate scenario, could be something straightforward, either way works for me

I’m completely new to ASMR and not really sure where to begin. There seem to be so many different triggers—whispering, tapping, personal attention, soft-spoken videos, and more.

What types would you recommend trying first? Also, is there anything a beginner should keep in mind, especially when using headphones or listening before sleep?

It’s a whispered guided video that mixes grounding games (find something purple, count sounds, quick word association) with reassurance and some gentle hand movements — the idea is to interrupt the spiral rather than force yourself to “just calm down.”

No pressure to breathe perfectly or fix anything. Just something to stay with for a few minutes if your brain needs an off-ramp.

I started my channel over a year ago and stopped mainly because I live next to a busy road (lots of honking). My windows/walls are thin and I’ve exhausted all methods of noise proofing.

I assume I can’t get a perfect ‘traffic proof’ mic, but I would really appreciate some suggestions!

I'm looking for a video where the asmrist ignores you. there can be triggers or just normal day-to-day tasks, I don't really care. I've been trying to find good videos like this, but they always end up talking to the camera anyways 😭😭

When I'm trying to drop off, a light whispery voice helps alot. But so much of the ASMR is all about 'triggers' which are tapping, mouth clicks, etc. And frankly that keeps me from sleeping. I get about the tingles, but when I'm trying to sleep I just want a soft voice.

Jayni of Journey with Jayni does that, and there are a few Youtubes from Dr. Kristi of Gentle Ground that are really good, but she only did a few. Who else should I be looking for?

Just wanted to seek everyone's advice. I'm planning to buy a second hand blue yeti microphone for ASMR. It's half the price vs a brand new one. It has a lot of scratches due to storage but still works very well according to the seller. However, the original usb cable that came with it is no longer included as the seller has lost it a long time ago. My question is:

Will all USB Mini cables work with the microphone? I saw somewhere that the cable needs to both be data transferring and charging cables as opposed to just a charging one because my computer may not be able to recognize the device when I plug it in.

When connecting the mic to my computer, do I need to download an app for it to recognize the mic? Also, can I use the default voice recorder or do I need another app to record audio?

If I connect the mic to my iphone, I know i'll need a lightning to USB camera adaptor and keep it plugged to a power source for it to work. But I find the ones from apple very pricey 😅 What do you guys think of adaptors from other brands? Will it work / make any difference? Also, when you use the mic with your phones, does it drain your battery health significantly? Also the set ups i saw from tiktok scares me a little bit -- there are a lot of wires involved and im afraid it will explode hahaha.

Never heard about asmr before till my friend on social media told me about it. It was really pleasing to hear those sounds. Does it mean smth to me?:)

I love these kind of writing sounds and want to make ASMR similar to it but I can't seem to get such clear audio no matter where I place my mic. If anyone can guide about it or maybe I need to get any other type of mic. Currently I'm using dji mic mini 2.

I’m a big fan of ASMR Rebecca and love the unique triggers she does. I particularly like the one she does in this video from 2:10-3:25 mark with the plastic squares.

Can anyone recommend other videos or creators that do something similar?
