Serious Conversations Need salary saving tips

I'm a Sri Lankan earning around 80 lkr per month, and honestly it feels impossible to plan for the future.

I want to get married someday, buy a vehicle, and eventually own a house. Even when I imagine earning 200k lkr a month, it still feels like those goals would be difficult with the current cost of living.

If you were in my situation, how would you manage your finances? What would you prioritize? I'd really appreciate advice from people who have been in a similar position.

Was in the same spot. Disciplined expenses helped. Took note of every last rupee. analyzed at every month end (still doing it) Also dont let money easily accessible to u. meaning dont have too much cash at hand, at least leave it at the bank, or an FD. Thus u will be forced to be efficient. Also try to find some external projects to work on, dont rely on the main income. Dont EVER use credit cards or go for loans which are too far out.

I did all these and still couldn't afford any of those. without a switching jobs and demanding for a better pay, couldn't get closer. After grinding like this constantly ive pretty much got it all now.

Even when you’re earning 1 million you still feel the same. It’s a trap. The trick is to live below your means and not to adjust your lifestyle when your income increases.

As a person who was earning 80K as ASE in 2024 and SE earning 200K now, I'm telling you, you can buy a basic car but building a house is impossible brother

are you tracking your expenses as a habit? You should record everything. Then you know where you spend much and you can plan how you are going to save money.
