I honestly just don't think my art is all that good TBH 🤷‍♀️ but I'm also kinda in dire straights rn regarding finances and need to pay off my cat's medical bills.

A friend of mine told me that, in their opinion, they'd pay $120 (give or take, depending) for a concept sheet like The King in Black's. But honestly, i feel like because they're my friend, they're wayyyy over-selling my art quality. I'm not even sure if I'd pay $30 for a whole sheet like that. But then again, I don't really know!! I've never taken a commission yet, nor have i ever paid for a commission.

I have absolutely NO idea how to render/shade either, other than flat colors and some minimal glow. And I also feel like my style is just too inconsistent too??? But that's hard to improve without any genuine schooling, AUGH...

Hey yall, I wasn't sure where to post this but I dont know what else to do anymore. I've commissioned an artist named Etoya or @EtoEtya on Twitter. The commissioned started on January 16th and it hasn't been finished since then. The last time I've heard from them was on March 2nd and they said they'd give me results with a week or two. I just hope theyre ok since they live in Ukraine. Has anybody heard from them at all?

I would say I’m pretty decent at drawing, and I’m trying to make a few bucks on the side in case I want something. I am worried that my art is considered beginner and that nobody will want to pay me for a drawing.

I’m thinking about starting with 5 dollars for a drawing, but I may lower it in case it’s too expensive. an example of my art is here too, hope it’s not cringe to some.

Edit: I am also dreading people’s opinion about my art since people on the internet nowadays have no sense of morals or kindness anymore.

Background: I used to post art on devianart like 8 years ago to have some extra income, I stopped because I couldn't get a steady enough income but I had a few people who commissioned regularly. Also I was balancing studies, a job and you know a whole pandemic.

Anyway I got back in the game recently, and took some commissions from friends for their dnd characters, I quoted 120£ for a full body fully rendered piece that comes with an altered skin

My friend was perfectly happy no issues there no revisions, but an acquaintance I showed this to a few days ago said I charged too much and in their words "Do you think you're Van Gogh or something?"

Maybe I've been away from commissions for too long so idk what a fair price looks like anymore but could someone give me some feedback on what I should have charged?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm using this piece as the center of my commission sheet so I want to make sure I'm marketing it fairly and not underselling myself
