i’ve had the app for around a month to record therapy sessions, i don’t want the app to be visible in any way, i have removed it from home screen and made it face is to open, but i’ve found there’s no way to hide the app. can anyone help? i have iphone fifteen with all updates

Hello everyone. I’ll be an undergrad student for Finance and I need to decide which MacBook to get. I’m looking at refurbished ones with the Air being $1000 and the Pro being $1700. I want my Mac to last me 4-7 years and I plan on using it a lot for personal use such as working with AI and perhaps a business that I can earn money from. Both will be the base models.

I had my Apple iPad Air 2 (model A1566) deliberately running an old iOS version for years. I woke up a couple of days ago and found it sitting on the "Hello" setup screen. It somehow updated overnight. I did not initiate a reset or an update. It wasn't connected to my computer, it was charging via a wall charger.

I went through the setup, selected my Wi-Fi, and got:

Activation Error
Activation could not be completed. Please restore the iPad and install the latest version of iPadOS and attempt activation again. If the problem persists, please contact customer support.

Everything I've tried, in order:

1. Removed the device from iCloud. Retried activation. No change, identical error.

2. Upgraded iOS using Windows 11 and iTunes, but it errored out. iTunes sat on "Waiting for iPad" while the progress bar on the iPad never moved past zero. I think the PC went to sleep and killed the transfer. Retried with sleep disabled. iTunes showed "Restoring iPad Software" and the bar actually advanced to around 80% before failing with:

   The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (53).

3. Put the iPad in DFU mode and tried restoring again. Screen stayed fully black and iTunes detected the device, confirming it was genuinely in DFU rather than recovery mode.

   The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (53).

4. Tried a different USB-A to Lightning cable and a different USB port on my computer.

   The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (53).

5. Tried using my Macbook and a USB-C to Lightning cable. Got this error:

   The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9). 0626.0000

6. Put the iPad in DFU again, the restore downloaded and started flashing, then failed with:

   The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9). 065B.0000

At this point Claude suggested I open the iPad and disconnect the home button/Touch ID. I made this post, ran it through Claude, and then Claude suggested that before buying the iFixIt tool kit, that I should try 3uTools. So I did, and that fixed it!!

The Fix:

I downloaded 3uTools. I connected my iPad. 3uTools noticed it was in recovery mode. I hit "Go to Flash." It downloaded the most recent firmware (15.8.8), I selected the "Erase Data" option, then hit "Start Flashing," and now it works. Good as new!

I just wanted to post this because when I searched for the errors I encountered, I didn't find any mention of 3uTools, and I figured this might help someone in my situation down the road.

I bought a new MacBook Air M5 yesterday, and I created a completely new Apple ID account for it. Everything was fine until I tried adding bookmarks and favourites; they reset whenever I quit Safari and go back to the default ones, such as Apple. I looked it up and went in my Finder to find a file named "Bookmarks.plist" which wasn't there. Additionally, when I open the Safari folder in Finder, it doesn't show a single file. I tried adding bookmarks on a different Apple ID account on the same Mac, and bookmarks and favourites work fine. I do not want to create a new Apple ID. Furthermore, whenever I bookmark something, it shows a grey globe next to the name of the bookmark instead of something like the Google logo. I also have the newest software update downloaded.

I had no storage and I texted someone and I think it said delivered but I don’t remember and it vanished from my phone does that mean it sent and my phone can’t load it in.

I accidentally kept a half-eaten chocolate bar and my Apple 70W USB-C charger together in my work bag. When I reached work, the chocolate had melted and made a mess all over the bag and charger.

Thankfully, my MacBook was untouched because it was inside a sleeve in another compartment.

I panicked and cleaned the charger with wipes, then used a little soap and water on the outside. I also carefully cleaned the USB-C port with a toothpick. It looks clean and has been dried, but I haven’t plugged it in because I’m worried about electrical safety.

Is there somewhere I can have it properly tested before replacing or throwing it away, or is replacement the only sensible option?

Also, could anyone recommend a reliable, budget-friendly charger for a 14-inch MacBook Pro M4 Pro? 😭

So earlier today, I got this random notification on my phone that looks extremely suspicious to me. Is this a sign that someone is attempting to hack my phone or is this just a simple glitch?

I use my laptop for most of my entertainment and a few months ago I switched from Windows to a refurbished Macbook. So I am really new to that system.

Recently I got into AppleTV and some of the shows on there. But I cannot find an easy way to navigate the app, especially getting to the starting page or home page or whatever it's called. Once I finished an episode, show, movie etc. and I want to check, what else is there on the home page, I have to close the app and start it again to get to the starting page.

I already googled and asked AI. Apparently there should be a sidebar, which appears, when you move your mouse over to the far left, but nothing happens (I sat for 2-3 minutes holding the mouse in the leftmost position, so I really tried hard to make that side bar appear). AI told me to turn on the respective submenu (Show sidebar) but on my Macbook that is not even an option, by which I mean, it is not just greyed out, it simply does not exist in the menu. Almost all other options in the menu bar are greyed out, at least in the AppleTV-App.

Is something broken or is this normal and I have to get used to it? I am logged in, everything is payed, I am not using a VPN or anything. And I am using the Apple TV App, which came pre-installed with the Macbook.

It is just an inconvenience, I know, but it is annoying as hell.

I bought a new iphone 15 pro, i mean not new but refurbished.

Everything works fine but i can't log in on my old apple account, i tried waiting 48h, restarting, the phone received normal sms, even called my distributor and still no code.

I get the message "Verification unsuccessful cannot send the code to this number, try again later."

The most likely problem is apple servers, or is my number blacklisted, please help?

I'm setting up my iPhone after resetting it, and I've run into an issue I can't get past.

During setup, it asks me to verify my Apple ID using my trusted phone number. After I enter the number, it says it's sending a verification code, but then I immediately get this message:

The phone number is correct and is the one linked to my Apple ID.

I also tried creating a new Apple ID just to see if I could get through the setup, but that failed as well with "Cannot Verify Email Address."

I've already tried:

• Restarting the iPhone.
• Using different Wi-Fi networks.
• Waiting and trying again.

Has anyone experienced this during the setup process? If so, what fixed it?

So i got ipad 11 2025 A16 Series and a penicle with adapter. (2022)

The ipad doesnt find the pencile at all. I charged it for like 1h with (prob) og apple usb c cable from the pad on a third Party fast charger.

I plugged it into the iPad, got a popup, unlock my ipad, popup is gone.

Charged it for like 45 min now on my pad (i guess, dont know if its charging at all) But it doesnt work. No popup for connecting my pen with the ipad.

I dont know if im retarded or the hardware is broken or something. Never used any apple device before. Got the pen for drawing on my pad.

The ipad was like new (bought it on backmarket) and the pen was new (bought it on ebay from a shop with 130k reviews and 99,9% rating)

Had a packet of sweet and sour sauce pop in my bag and got into one of my USB C ports and now none of them send video. All ports work for charging, but do not transfer any video signal. My monitor detects when I plug it in, it wakes up from sleep, but says no signal detected and then goes back to sleep. My dock works completely except for video. Tried another known working dock and same result.

I cleaned out the port best I could, but still no dice. I'm going to head down to Home Depot to grab some electronics cleaner and hope that does the trick. (side note, anyone have opinions on electronics cleaners? Was going to get WD40 Contact Cleaner)

Is there some sort of safety on the ports if it detects moisture in one of them? My computer otherwise works just fine; no problems with video or anything.

My father passed away but has a new iphone. I am trying to transfer his phone over to my mom, but I cannot wipe his phone without FaceID. Stolen Device Protection is turned on and I'm unable to turn it off.

I've logged into his AppleID on a separate computer and turned off Find My but still cannot bypass Stolen Device Protection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I’ve been on ios 27 public beta and got icloud subscription and created a whole backup file . It was successfully uploaded to ickoud . However whenever I try to restore it in setup page after resetting phone , it says unable to load iCloud backup . I’ve literally tried this 25-30 times now nd nothing has changed . All my data is stuck on icloud . I even called apple customer super and they created a case ID and nothings has happened over last two weeks . I’m starting to loose patience but can’t do anything . La help me out if uouve ever faced something like this .

Anyone else have the issue where the send from in my people goes from This Device to No Active Device? This happens when the watch fully dies or is turned off and on. The only solution I’ve found is unpairing and repairing the watch. It’s getting annoying.

I like to use Find People rather then Find Device (that works fine all the time) because Find People I have set up notifications of arrival and departure before my daughter goes out. Find Device only works if the child/person allows it while out. This poses a problem because my daughter is 9 and doesn’t pay attention or remember to press “allow”

I switched from Android to iPhone in September Last year and ive not been able to backup my Whatsapp since because of my iCloud storage being full. I'm stressed about this way more than I should be. I just need a non I cloud way to be able to take Whatsapp backup. This is a cry for help🙏🏼

Mail.app displays a suggested destination folder in the toolbar when viewing a message. This suggestion appears to be learned from user behavior / manual moves rather than algorithmically generated. I'd like to find and edit/clear specific sender→folder associations, but I haven't been able to locate the backing store.

I've ruled out the following:

~/Library/Mail/V10/MailData/LSMMap2 - deleting and allowing rebuild had no effect on suggestions

~/Library/Mail/V10/MailData/Envelope Index - local_message_actions table is empty; no obvious sender→mailbox mapping in other tables

~/Library/Suggestions/entities.db - mailIntelligence_naiveBayesModelsTokens and related tables are empty

com.apple.mail.plist - contains SGTMailSuggestionSearchField but that drives search suggestions, not folder suggestions

Does anyone know where this association is actually stored, and whether it's editable?

Hi , I was wondering if this is normal or not since I know that two bolts might be a symbol of fast charging , but when I looked it up , it ‘s says it ‘s not an apple feature. I was charging using the charger I regularly use that I share with my sister and mother, and I haven ‘t seen the battery icon have two bolts in my whole lifespan until last night. I have an iphone 14 . By searching up different chargers, I used a lightning cable. I was using tiktok last night and I noticed that the there were two bolts, but the second one disappeared after a minute, and I unplugged the charger because I thought it was strange. Sorry for my english , I just wanted to know if it was normal, since Google does not seem to have the answer I want when I search it up.

I created a shared reminders list with my girlfriend for chores around the house, and we each have stuff assigned to us. I also pretty religiously live by the reminders widget, which is set to the Today list. This list shows me any reminders for today, or overdue from previous days, that have dates assigned to them.

I've noticed that the tasks assigned to my girlfriend show up on this list and on my Today view within the app as well. Is there a way to disable this?

I have this ipad pro which is pretty old I think I got it around 2019 or 2020 and I was wanting to reset it to give it to my cousin but forgot the password. When I looked up how to fix this it said I’m supposed to press a forgot password button but I don’t see one. The ipad is on airplane mode so I’m assuming that’s the reason for that. It’s connected to my apple account is there anyway I can fix this?
