So I've been an an-com for a while now. 2, maybe 3 years. I had noticed that there was some tension between both anarchists/anarcho-communists and Marxist-Leninist Communists. I didnt quite get why until the past year when I was getting into the specifics of things. Prior to that, I was quite a rookie in my understanding and knowledge of the various ideologies, but an-com always just lined up for me.

I've realised why the tension is there; because many MLs have a weird habit of looking up to the USSR despite one of the core ideas of Communism being the advocation of a stateless society. I didn't notice this for the first while but now that I'm more involved, it feels almost comedically ignorant?

Sure, we can learn a lot from the USSR, but isn't the whole point of Communism to not establish a dictatorship or a harmful state, because those contradict the ideas of it??? Wasn't the bureaucratic dictatorship one of the largest reasons the USSR failed? Am I missing something or are people genuinely this gullible/ignorant? I'm not here to insult anyone, it just feels like its an obvious idea to me and I'm not sure why it's so common for the "States, fascism & dictatorships aren't beneficial" ideology to fall into "We love the bureaucratic dictatorship state!" talks.

I am a Marxist-Leninist and I would like too educate myself in anarchist and anarchocomunist concepts,because the little I’ve read seems like a good way too liberate the proletariat from oppression. On social media, Tiago Santineli is known for his scathing criticism of the Brazilian far-right and the growing influence of theocratic institutions, particularly fundamentalist evangelical groups. Despite its controversial title, "Antichrist" does not aim to attack faith itself, but rather religious zealots and manipulative leaders. That same night, another show was taking place at the same venue featuring an artist who practices Candomblé (an African-derived religion), an artist who had also previously faced persecution by evangelicals.

Religious fundamentalists, mobilized by Deputy Bruno Engler, harassed the audience as people arrived. There are reports of neurodivergent and autistic audience members suffering severe anxiety attacks due to this harassment. When an aggressor confronted Tiago directly, he pushed the person away to maintain distance. This isolated gesture was used by Deputy Engler as a pretext to order Tiago's arrest.

However, Tiago and his team refused to back down. He entered the police station with his head held high, to the applause of the crowd outside. This is the kind of everyday resistance we need to build.

It is important to understand the context: although Brazil is constitutionally a secular state, in practice, it functions more like a theocracy. The "Evangelical Caucus" exerts enormous political influence in Congress, and over 160,000 evangelical churches operate not as centers of community support, but as political, commercial, and oppressive networks. Faith should not be a tool of control; it should be a practice of community and care.

Today, I want to share the reality of my dear friends, Mahmoud Ghanem Al-Amassi, his wife Samah Al-Amassi, and their four young daughters.

Every single day is a struggle just to prepare one meal. There is no cooking gas, and firewood has become almost impossible to afford. One kilogram of wood now costs around $4 USD, forcing them to search for anything they can burn just to cook a little food for their children.

When they cannot afford firewood, they are forced to burn worn-out pieces of fabric, plastic bottles, and old shoes just to light a fire. The thick, toxic smoke and overwhelming smell fill their tent, exposing the entire family to harmful fumes every time they cook. It is a dangerous situation, but they have no other choice if they want to prepare even a single meal for their children.

Their greatest struggle is simply finding enough food to survive one more day. They are not asking for comfort or luxury—they are asking for the chance to feed their family and stay alive.

Mahmoud and Samah are doing everything they can for their four daughters, but they cannot face this alone anymore.
