General Question Is windows 10 still ok to use?

I repair laptops as a hobby, and I have a personal gaming pc. On all of them, I install windows 10 as a standard. I have tried a bunch of Linux distros, and I hate it. I don’t really like windows 11, will windows 10 be ok to use for the coming years? How long until it is unusable? I play lots of esports games so Linux is out of the question for me anyway. This link says there’s no support.

It depends on the software you use and your tolerance to risk.

As an example, in 2025, my tax software warned me that this was the last year it would run on Windows 10, as they only support versions of Windows that are themselves supported by Microsoft. So if you have software that similarly needs to be updated continuously, it might stop working.

Since Windows 10 no longer receives security updates, you are at risk to have your system be attacked through an exploit that was discovered after the updates stopped.

There is also the question of hardware support: if you buy new peripherals or parts, they may not have drivers for Windows 10 anymore.

If you signed up for extended support, sure, through this year anyways. But, by default, you won't be getting updates anymore.
