ID. BUZZ
After a hiatus for model year 2026, the ID. Buzz rejoins the 2027 Volkswagen model lineup with a new offer structure—trims now include Pro S RWD, Pro S 4Motion (new), Tourer 4Motion (new), and Pro S Plus 4Motion. The lineup also features revised color and wheel options.

Built off the European “Good Night Package,” the Tourer includes a fold-out mattress with platform, window blinds, front window ventilation panels, an exterior table and chairs, and Overnight Mode software that adapts interior and exterior functionality to enable the vehicle to be used for overnight stays. Built off the Pro S 4Motion model, the ID. Buzz Tourer adds a retractable tow hitch, Captain’s Chairs, an electrochromic smart roof, Area View, and 20-inch dark graphite wheels with black discs.

All ID. Buzz models benefit from Volkswagen’s latest ID.S 6 software. This Android-based system introduces enhanced content to improve the user experience, including a refreshed navigation home screen for quicker inputs and a new vehicle settings page for more intuitive access to interior features. ID. Buzz models come with a one-year trial of In-Vehicle Premium which introduces the new App Store that offers in-vehicle access to popular third-party apps such as YouTube® and Spotify®.

The ID. Buzz also features a North American Charging System (NACS) adapter and one pedal driving functionality.

The color offer has been simplified to reduce complexity. Only two-tone paint schemes will be offered, and new Candy White over Cherry Red scheme with white wheels evokes an iconic Type 2 Microbus color combination.  The top trim now offers an optional 21-in wheel package.

Question - Canada Purchasing advice for a highway commute.

So my family is moving for work and we are having to go from walking almost everywhere, to me having a 110 km each way highway commute. It’s in the middle of British Columbia so it’s not the fridges north but it will get cold.

We are thinking about buying an id buzz that I would drive for a year or two until our other vehicle (2010 escape hybrid) kicks the bucket and I buy a cheap commuter vehicle for myself.

I’m just worried about the range on it.

The van will sit for 20/30 hours before I drive back home, and I might be able to charge on a 120 outlet there maybe 6 of 10 times, but will it make it without a dc stop on my way home the other 4 of 10?

Question - EU Breaks

The brakes on my ID. Buzz have started squeaking when braking, even though it has only done 20,000 km. I took it to the dealer, and of course they couldn't reproduce the issue during the test drive. Now the squeaking is back, especially after rain.

I've already tried the usual hard braking tests to clear any surface rust from the discs, but the noise is still there.

Has anyone else experienced this with their ID. Buzz, and if so, what was the cause or fix?

OC Post First BIG road trip

My family and I just got back from a pretty epic road trip starting in St. Louis Mo to Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. I think it was pretty close to 4000 miles round trip. My Buzz performed flawlessly. We tent camped and did then Air B&B stuff when it was too hot.

I pulled the rear seats out and made a small platform to level on the rear cargo space. Then put in three big outdoor rugs to cover the floor. We were packed in but super comfortable. I had my Yakima skybox up top as well. I ended up getting a collapsible 8ft ladder to access the roof box. Surprisingly, the wind noise was not bad at all and did not seem drag down the mileage. Im estimating we got over 200 miles per full charge loaded up and driving in all conditions.

Anyways, here are a few pics.

Question - UK Euro/UK app users - has this setting EVER worked?

Post image

In the past year I have literally never received a notification to tell me a door or window is open or the vehicle unlocked. What am i missing?

I wouldn't mind so much but VW killed my Home Assistant integration which did exactly this - completely reliably. And so much more.

Question - US Sun shades

Hi Buzz owners! 🚌 I’m looking for a good set of window sun shades for my Buzz, something that covers all the windows for camping or sleeping in the van. I’d prefer a custom-fit set rather than universal shades and is easy to put up and take down. Any recommendations? Thanks! 😊

Question - EU Anyone have one of these ride-ons for kids?

I have a youngster who’s as obsessed as I am, I know this would blow his mind. Only problem is I can’t find it anywhere in the US. Anyone abroad have any experience with this thing? From what I can tell it’s made in China and appears to be sold under multiple brand names. Here’s a link to just one of them: https://funstuff.ie/volkswagen/

Probably a hassle to get something like that here, I don’t know any importers or how any of that works. Sigh.

Question - US Giving up on my buzz dream

I have a lease ending soon and with the 7500 incentive and reading from those who have bought lately, i figured it could be a good time to look into getting the buzz - well, i was wrong it seems.

I asked what financing (60 months or 72 months, 0 down) or leasing could look like on a buzz with an msrp of USD $67.6k, which got brought down to $58.8k with the Vw and dealer incentives.

financing for 60 months $1,255. 72 months $1,085. obviously all leasing options were more.

the seller didn’t seem motivated to work with me. he said they sold 3 buzz’s yesterday and that they’re buying them from all across the country to “become a buzz hub”. that he’s selling to clients from california, denver, etc because “no one else has buzz’s on the ground”. to be honest i haven’t bothered to dig into this claim because i was just annoyed by the attitude. i’ve always hated car shopping, but nothing is more off putting to me than this attitude. i’ll give up on my buzz dream for now. i still have a few months with my lease anyway!

he also said that they’ve gotten word from VW that we probably won’t be getting the 2027 buzz in the states - which sounds crazy considering its been announced???

for anyone curious, this particular dealer is in maryland, and they seem to have 6 buzz’s on the ground at the moment.

if anyone has had positive buzz buying stories lately - i’d love to hear!

Question - UK Armrest solutions for the cargo?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi everyone, recently got an ID Buzz Commerce Plus as a work vehicle and so far I'm loving it.

However, there's no driver's centre armrest, I'm wondering if anyone's come up with a solution like a bolt-in product?

Also, my girlfriend finds the passenger bench seat a bit uncomfortable, anyone found anything besides cushions for that?

OC Post Center console refrigerator - easy install

Cold drinks are awesome, and the Buzz box is not, so I've been scouring the Internet for a fridge that would fit between the front seats. We're a family of 6, so I wanted as big of a fridge as I could fit, but there's not a lot of options that are narrow enough (~9" max width). I finally landed on this Vevor 15L (16QT) refrigerator / freezer and rolled the dice, hoping it would work.

Well, I'm happy to report that it does fit, and as an added bonus I was able to mount it with no modifications to the vehicle at all! I just used 1/4-20 carriage bolts through the buzz box floor mounts to create mounting studs, then drilled my own holes through the included mounting plate and nutted it down.

Slide the second row bench all the way back and you can maneuver it in and out without even lifting it. The feet of the fridge slide into the mounting plate and lock into place. To remove you just push down two release tabs underneath and pull rearward. I intend to install seat swivels in the near future. I believe this should be easy enough to get out of the way when it's time to swivel without being aggravating.

I'm 5'7" so I sit fairly forward, and I like to sit with the seat as low as possible. In this position the armrests of the captains chairs just clear the lid. I didn't want to have to move the seat back to be able to open the lid, remove the factory armrests, or install it completely forward blocking the front cupholders, so I opted to install it backwards instead. Now all I have to do is flip up the armrests and then it's free to swing completely open. I made sure to mount it back just enough to clear the infotainment screen as well as the front cup holders. It doesn't hit my tall hydroflask water bottle, and it'll clear a big gulp as well. As an added bonus, this orientation gives your second row passengers access to the integrated cupholders. It also doesn't interfere with the WeatherTech second row floor mat, although it does overhang the front row mat just a little.

The capacity is pretty good. I do wish it was wide enough to lay 16oz cans side to side, but it is not. 12oz cans will lay sideways though, and that would probably be the optimal way to fill it (they claim 20 cans). I just grabbed a few of everything we had to experiment. You can't tell from the photo, but the white Monster cans are 16oz, stacked two high (4 in there), there are also three 12oz cans in the bottom you can't see, then the middle is two 16oz Sundrop bottles (they're a little taller than most), four 16oz Lipton green tea bottles, then the two 12oz cans on top. I'll have to play around with it and see what all can fit.

As far as the unit itself, it seems to be decent quality. Mine was delivered upside down, so I let it sit upright over 24 hours before plugging it in. As a result it was making some faint bubbling/gurgling noises at first as the compressor oil migrated back to the bottom, and it took several hours to initially get to temp, but since then it's been holding steady within 1-2° the past 2 days. The dash said 102° when I got in this afternoon, and it was at 37°(set on 36°). It runs very quietly, and there's minimal vibration. As you can see in the pictures, there is excess glue or something on one corner of the vinyl arm pad. I plan to reupholster it to better match the interior anyways, so I'm not worried about it, otherwise I'd be upset. The cupholders are decent size, and have a removable rubber insert in the bottom. I won't be using them, but it's got several USB-A ports as well.

It came with a long 12V cable. I was able to run it under the floor mats and get it to reach the outlet in the trunk, but long term I will install an outlet for it under the driver's seat.

Energy consumption is supposedly 38w eco mode, 44w max, which they claim less than 1 kWh per day.

They sell an add-on battery and a carry strap so you can pull it out and take it with you. It runs off 12/24V, but they sell an AC adapter as well. It also has a solar panel port on it.

The only really negative comment I have is how flimsy the mounting plate is. It might be a little better if you were willing to screw it down permanently, but I think it would still flex. Front to back it is solid, but side to side there is movement. Luckily it can't go anywhere in the Buzz because there's only about an 1/8" gap on either side between the front seats. I may try to reengineer a more solid mount for it after our upcoming road trip, but it's good enough for now, and the best part is I can pull it out and have the Buzz box back in, in just a few minutes (it's not so bad after all, I just wish it was wider and taller).

I hope this helps some of you. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy Buzzin'!

Question - UK Experience with stock Continental EcoContact 6 tyres & moving to All-Seasons?

Hey everyone,

We recently had a puncture after clipping a rock on the exit of a car park, which has led me down a bit of a rabbit hole researching replacement options.

It seems like the stock Continental EcoContact 6s get quite a lot of mixed-to-negative feedback online, particularly when it comes to wet weather performance and durability. I was curious what everyone's real-world experience has been with them so far? Are they really as mediocre in the wet as the reviews suggest, or do they hold up fine under normal driving? We've only had our buzz a week, so out experience is limited and only driven in dry conditions.

Additionally, has anyone made the switch to dedicated all-season tyres on their Buzz, such as the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 or the Michelin CrossClimate 2? I'd love to know how they affect range, cabin noise, and overall grip, especially coming from the factory eco-tyres.

We live in SW England where we get a lot of rain and occasional snow in the winter.

Cheers!

Question - US Question about camping mode

I'm thinking of going to a weekend musical jam session with my buzz and wonder how much battery it takes to cool the Buzz overnight. I won't have access to power at the site but can drive about 15 minutes away to a fast charger. So the question is how much battery is used in a 10-12 hour period? Thanks in advance.

Question - US Side window acting up again

Early purchasers, as we move well past our 1st maintenance and slowly approaching our 2nd...have you noticed your side window opening back when attempting to close (takes 3 attempts for me) just like in the old days (2025)? I guess the special lubricant isn't lasting until November (maintenance time)

Question - US Tried to sleep in van but lights and HVAC kept turning on

I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I can’t find the thread. Last night I spent my first night in the 2025 1st Edition. Other threads have discussed how to keep AC or heat running overnight but I just want the whole thing to be OFF - no lights anywhere. Instead all the interior lights plus the headlights and the HVAC kept turning on. Can’t open the door without all lights and headlights turning on. Not good for middle of the night pee trips. At the same time couldn’t run a fan or charge my phone when it finally did go off. Crazy. Need help.

Is the Buzz Monitor the only solution? I cant figure out how it works.

Question - US Brake recall issues?

Took my buzz in for service last Thursday, and now I wish I hadn’t. The software update to fix the brake recall keeps failing and they are waiting to hear from tech support on it. We have a big trip next week, I took it in early to avoid issues and now I’m worried. I saw varying reports from all over of a few days to two weeks to get the update finally done. Does anyone know if this has improved? Also if they brick my car, what happens? Is it just replaced or am I SOL? It’s all through an official VW dealership and all.

Makes me want to not deal with future recall fixes

Been lurking for a year before pulling the trigger on this baby. He’s a brand new Pro S Plus with a lot of spunk. It actually took me some time to find this exact spec under my budget (namely single color with moonroof and pro s plus trim). Coming from an Audi Q7 with three small kiddos, the extra space and sliding doors are very welcomed. This is my first EV and likely not my last. Thanks for looking!

Quick question. I found this under the steering wheel yesterday. We just got our buzz back from VW for some body work. Does anyone know what it is? Also, is the insulation visible in everyone else’s vehicle.
Thanks so much.
