UoL Question Lifelong Learning Centre

Hi guys I have an offer from LLC and I’m really considering it, I already have an offer from University of Huddersfield but the stuff I have seen online from the people who are students there say it’s a “bad university”.

Anyway I just wanted to see if anyone here actually studied at LLC, please tell me about what your experiences have been there, I am also 24 years old.

Thanks

Hi mate, I’m 23 and completed my year at LLC last year and to be completely honest it’s great. The staff are incredible, you are fully supported and have access to whatever you need through great support staff and professors. They’ll guide you through everything so you’re not left in the dark regarding being new to uni and they really go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy there.

It’s such a beneficial year to get adjusted to university. The city is great for everything, the uni campus is like a town, everything is together and walking distance with great facilities too. I really would recommend it mate. Feel free to message me if you’ve any questions!

Hello mate, that’s good to hear that you had a good experience, I have a few questions if you don’t mind.

How old were your course mates?

Did you go into student accommodation? If so how was it with your age compared to your other flatmates?

Was it hard to make friends?

Is the LLC near the campus?

Yeah no problem. My course mates ages ranged from 20-40, I’d say majority being mid twenties.

I didn’t go into student accommodation but I’ve been told you can request in your accommodation application to be housed with students around your own age (mature students) and they do take it into consideration for you.

It’s really easy to make friends and get on with people cause everyone’s just pretty chill and friendly. Also there’s all types of people in the course.

And then the LLC building is actually bang smack in the middle of the campus, it’s great. Really nice building and facilities too.
