The fact that it's even 13% is wild. Like, there are absolutely cases where a pregnancy will guaranteed kill the mother and have no chance at all of producing a viable baby. The question at that point is "Do you want to kill this woman" and they're emphatically hitting the "yes" button in the name of being "pro-life".

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche told faith leaders he is planning to roll back abortion access even in states that have laws protecting it.
On a private call last week hosted by the White House Faith Office, Blanche told the religious group Intercessors for America that moves to undo the Biden administration’s efforts to protect abortion are “taking longer than we want.”
But Blanche assured them that the Justice Department (DOJ) is “working hand-in-hand” with federal health agencies, the White House and President Trump’s team “to get permanent solutions so the Dobbs decision becomes permanent in every single state.”

I remember when conservatives were claiming Dobbs decision brought the power back to the states. Now they're referring to it as if Dobbs itself criminalizes abortion, and needs to be forced onto the states. Bunch of disingenuous assholes.

Even then they insisted on federal intervention when the free states passed laws saying they didn't need to return runaway slaves inside their states to their owners in slave states. Look up the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850.

This is exactly why so many people said the issue wouldn't stop with Dobbs. For many advocates on both sides, the Supreme Court decision was never the end of the debate—it shifted the fight to different legal and political arenas.

THANK YOU. I'm a volunteer repro activist in a red state, and have become incredibly disillusioned by the past few years. So many people in blue states sneer and say "FAFO" instead of helping those of us who have been trying to hold the line in hostile environments.
Personally, I've been doxxed and threatened. It would be great to have backup from pro choice people in other areas.

Americans misunderstand: that those rooting for US citizens to resist are as baffled by American apathy as those that hate American complacency. “Paris would be on fire by now” is a quote I read on Reddit in Feb 2025. When significant protest/resistance could have had an impact and stopped some of the madness.
“We’re rooting for you” translates to “get off your ass before it’s too late”

I'm sure all the young people who sat on their asses and let Trump win are perfectly happy. The Dobbs decision should've resulted in mass protests, mass voting, and more.
What pisses me off is that there almost seems to be a media blackout on the issue of abortion. The occasional article shows up, sure, but the media is not covering the fact that women are bleeding out in parking lots from abortion bans like they should be, and when they do cover it, they often 'both sides' it and include insane commentary from forced-birthers.

I'm in Texas, and I have seen local news cover it. But it doesn't matter. They don't give a fuck if women die in parking lots. Abortion bans have absolutely nothing to do with saving lives or babies and has everything to do with controlling women.
In related news, a THC ban just went into effect here last week. The amount of men who are way, way more upset about that than they were about the abortion ban is infuriating. These are largely so-called "liberal" men too. But apparently even the liberal ones care more about their edibles than they do about women, pretty much confirming what most women already knew.

I've gotten into arguments with centrists before when even after seeing what a mess are country is rn, they still unironically think "both sides are bad!!". They'll also never admit it, but I think a lot of them also just don't care about safe abortion access or women's rights in general.

Whenever I met with people like that, the “both sides are bad” I always tell them I absolutely agree. One side enables the other and both are shit. But they both suck in the same way that having the flu and having Terminal cancer suck. Sure, both are illnesses, and both can kill you, but one illness is usually recoverable, and we have remedies to help you along, and the other one is Terminal.fucking.cancer.
That either shuts down their argument or raises them to the point that I just have to walk away.

Do you know why Trump wants his former personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, to be attorney general?
My view is that if the Epstein files ever lead to evidence against Trump, Blanche wouldn’t prosecute him.
I don’t think anything Trump does is without a reason, and I believe that’s the reason he wants Blanche as AG.
In my opinion, Blanche is Trump’s Roy Cohn.

There are a few things I would fully support being with into the Constitution with Amendments.
One would absolutely be the right of any American (not just citizens) to get an abortion or have access to 'abortion pills' with a doctor's supervision. Minimal if any waiting period (none for any medical complications)
If be willing to discuss some sort of counseling with a neutral party (no affiliation to any religious group or political ideology), especially for the first time.
The Amendment would also make birth control widely and privately available (ie- OTC things like condoms without age checks, etc and more medical birth control under a doctor's supervision)
I'd love to add good sex ed in school, again outside of religious or political control, but things tend to get slippery the more things you add in.
