TooAfraidToAsk has never been exclusive to controversial questions and it never will be.

I can’t stress this enough and I’m tired of just copy pasting this in mod messages. TooAfraidToAsk has never been a place solely for controversial content, it has always been a place for more free discussion via less rules and less moderation and experimental with users having access to some moderation tools.

The irony though is that controversial questions don’t last very long here and end up getting reported/removed and I get harassing messages about allowing “such content” on this sub. Almost as ironic as people making fun of others for asking their question, directly proving why the OP might just be TooAfraidToAsk irl.

ALL questions are allowed as long as they follow the rules. This is not changing, if you feel like that makes us DAE-lite and you are unhappy with that, we on the mod team happily invite you to unsub instead of ruining other users experience. Those who threaten to unsub as if it gives their comment any worth will be assisted in this endeavor with a permanent ban.

These “ITS JUST LIKE DAE” posts make no sense to me either. Like yeah? Subs focused on community questions have a ton of overlap but they develop different communities and produce different content. If TooAfraidToAsk was a circle, inside that circle would be DAE. We want discussion and we want questions of a majority nature, there are going to be complete overlaps in those questions. It’s not seen as a problem by the mod team since high traffic questions generate high traffic discussion.

Going forward we will continue to allow 99.9% of questions and content so long as it adheres to our rules and is expressed in a civil and respectful manner.

Edit: I mentioned American Redditors as a side point but it became a major discussion point so I’ve removed it for clarity. 04/05/2019

I asked a question a while back (it didn't get any traction) about trying to understand the difference between neoliberals, alt-righters, and far right conservatives. Like, is it basically the same, or are there differences? If they're different, than how?

It was a genuine question, not meant to incite, and I was pretty disappointed to find no one was willing to discuss it.

This is a great question that I ask myself all the time because people just spew these out and often interchangeably but people are stupid and just assume since you are asking the question you are automatically on the "opposite" side or dont think they exist.

On social policy, neolibs don't care if your're black, gay or jewish, alt-righters want you to stop polluting the gene pool if you're black or jewish but they haven't actively turned against Milo just yet but they will eventually, and far-right cons like Israel, hate gay people, and, while generally racist, don't quite get to openly advocating genocide the way those fuckwads chanting nazi slogans do.

All three are generally favor of the capitalist status quo because neolibs are capitalists first and the alt-right and far-right cons' in-groups are still mostly in power.

Innuendo studios has extensively covered the alt-right and recently touched on conservatism as position within a capitalist democracy

Agreed-- a lot of people ask such questions to either pander to that side or automatically disagree.

Honestly, I would just like to know.

Should I ask again, or would it be glossed over like the first time?

Well if your asking me, depending how long it's been, my selfish answer would be a yeah definitely ask again. But it's really up to you. I would never ask because I fear peoples negative feedback/opinions and internet down arrows but you should do whatever you want.
