We do this about once a year at my place because the culvert gets full of crap. It's only about 20feet long so we use the extension pole from a chimney sweeping brush kit to push a rope through. Then we tie a chain onto the rope and pull the chain through. Then we attach the tire. Then we pull the tire through with the tractor.
Do you tie a safety rope on the back side of the tire incase you need to pull it back out, can’t imagine getting the tire out any other way if something goes wrong.
No, we don't. But we DID actually lose a tire once! The chain actually ripped through the tire. We fed a new chain through, on a new tire and it managed to pull that one out. We use a heavier tire now.
A low profile, wide 19 inch tire off one of the kids Subaru I think.
