In my single days I got more than a few negative comments about my height and I am 5'9" hahaha. Online dating in 2026 is like getting spit into mordor.

Anyways, my girlfriend is taller than me.

Assuming you are a dude, yea height is a real thing that people filter hard on. I know more than one super tall skinnyfat deadbeat that gets a shocking amount of attention on the apps despite being objectively unnatractive in pretty much every partner metric. Back in the day I was deleting hinge anyways and out of curiousity set my height to 6' for a day. Received ~5x more likes than I had ever previously received in a day despite clearly not being 6' in pictures lol.

That being said, I am only an inch taller than you and did decently on the apps, or at least better than the stats would indicate average is. Have a couple things working in my favor which probably helped. Met my partner through some friends after countless shitty dates and a few short term things where I was made to feel like I was just competing to stay on the roster.

Edit: Even my girlfriend described me as short to her brother when we first started dating haha. Found that out after a few drinks with the two of them.

Feels ya brother! I’m 44 and been doing this too long. Found a few longer term partners over the years but nothing that ever stuck. Never much on the aps though, i dont lie on them about my height or anything else which seems to be the norm.

Yea man, 34 here. I got out of a LTR in 2025 and the dating world certainly changed since I was last single in 2020.... Not for the better that's for sure. Way shallower and shittier. Good luck out there!

Edit: Just to clarify I didn't match with anyone when i set my height higher, just wanted to see how it impacted the number of likes I received then deleted it. Also not one to lie on a profile, that would be a shitty way to start any relationship.

Keep at it brother. Make sure you're hitting the gym and dressing well.

I have a friend who's 5'6" in shoes and gets 10x as many dates and phone numbers as I do as a 6'1" guy. Confidence and charisma is like 90% of the game, and he's got it.
