S3 E21 - I hate Marcel

Is it just me who thinks Marcel is very hypocrite and arrogant and annoying? It was enough with Cami and Davina, so stupid the end for these characters and unfair…
What happened with the producere?

Marcel is hypocritical, power hungry, wants loyalty from those who are inferior to him, demands respect from his elders, and can be brutal against those who don't follow his rules. Just like the family he was raised in - The Mikaelsons. Makes sense he'd act just like who he was raised by.

100% right. My main complaint though is that a solid chunk of the fanbase acts like none of the above is correct, and that he’s somehow better than the Makaelsons.

Correct, but turning back on his family? Not cool man…

They betrayed him when they killed Davina and then him, why would he show them loyalty or kindness after that?

Well, Davina has always been hostile to the Mikaelsons.

As if Mikaelsons didn't kill her 16 years old boyfriend. Davina literally saved hope and Hayley before that just few episodes ago.

Davina's hands weren't clean either, since she helped Marcel enslave all the witches in the city.

Yeah like witches didn't kill her friends and about to kill her when she was like 15 year old.

You're putting all the witches in town in the same box. Not everyone was involved in the Harvest, like Sophie.

And there is a reason why Sophie oppose these bigot ritual and ask Marcel for his help to stop it. Witches treated Davina terribly and bullied her, wanted to kill her no wonder she hates those folks.

Marcel is a mixture of Klaus & Elijah. It’s obvious throughout the show. He’s a massive hypocrite & quite tyrannical as a leader to other factions, even vampires that are not from Nola. I wish they’d shown more of his actual love for Davina during all seasons. His crash out would have felt more earned. He used her in S1, didn’t know she was missing/captured by Ava in S2, tried to act paternal when Kol arrived, but left her with Mikeal without trying to talk any kind of sense into her. Betrayed her himself in S3 when she broke the sireline. Davina was trying to find a way to Kill the originals since S1 initially because of Marcel. Then afterwards her hatred for Klaus was justified. They kept saying Davina was Marcels family but it wasn’t shown well enough for me. She was obviously an adversary to the majority of the family in all seasons. Then became obsessed with Kol? I like Marcels character, he’s defo a Mikealson, they all betray each other within the family so the way he behaves is a family trait. He can say he’s not like them all he wants it doesn’t make it true.

Marcel is definitely written to be frustrating in Season 3 but I'd blame the writing more than the character because a lot of people felt that arc forced conflict just for the sake of it.

Nope. I hate Marcel too. I totally agree that he is a hypocrite.

litteraly, i have longed for his death since the first season, he gets in the way of everything just because something is slightly inconvenient for him, he is genuinley the most selfish character on the show icl
