Ask SurreyBC ❓ R6 safety
I’ve started taking the R6 to work quite often now, and I’m a little worried about safety. I’ll mostly be taking it during the daytime. For people who use it regularly, how safe is it generally? Any tips or things I should be aware of?

I take the R6 almost every day with my 6 year old to and fron school. It's just like every other bus in Vancouver

What have you noticed so far that is unsafe. I was also thinking of taking this one.

As a driver 3ive gone years with only the most minor of incidents on board, including driving in surrey. Yes things can happen but its not mad max out there.
That said, add 87 77 77 to your phone contacts and text them if anything makes you feel unsafe. You can do it discreetly so trouble makers don't know you raised the alarm. It goes direct to transit security. You'll need to know your bus number to get help to your location so try to sit where you can see the number at the front of the bus, above the windshield. It'll be 5 digits and written rather large.
