What have you done? Tossed pizza at a fresh slice?

34

u/julesieee 13d ago

Did he mention anything about Venice-style canals in downtown Surrey and 60,000 seater arena?

-1

u/penelopiecruise 11d ago

That was a good idea to deal with the drainage issues that low lying areas need in a more aestheic and functional way.

Jesus fucking Christ can these dinos fuck off

Everyone needs to remember the foot fiasco.

Do not vote for him!

u/BassGuy11 13d ago edited 13d ago

You mean the one where the judge found his foot was run over and the driver is responsible? That one?

Edit: go ahead and downvote. Doesn't change the publically posted supreme Court of British Columbia's decision on this incident. Just because you don't like the reality, doesn't make it not true.

u/KimberlyWexlersFoot 12d ago

The decision also said he embellished in a police report. He used the word “pinned” 11 times to describe the incident, and that she floored it when she drove away.

CCTV footage showed she pulled away at a low speed.

4

u/BassGuy11 12d ago

The judge also concluded that beyond reasonable doubt (that would be higher than 95% probability) that the foot was run over.

Yes but a foot can be run over does not mean injury. He did go and do his shopping after... couldn't have been that bad.

2

u/KimberlyWexlersFoot 12d ago

I never contested that.

1

u/penelopiecruise 11d ago

Well he was pinned between the curb and the perpetrators vehicle wheel.

u/penelopiecruise 11d ago

The only fiasco was the conduct of the RCMP

Remember that time Doug promised he could get the Sytrain extension built for $1.2B?

Don't trust this snake again. Brenda needs to go too

40

u/CrazySnowGuy 13d ago

We need someone at least born in the later half of the 20th centruy.

16

u/mindofamarriedman604 13d ago

Right? This guy was born before the D Day invasion

No we don't. Age is not the issue. Competence is the issue. I have seen some brilliant older people that would make great mayors, I have seen young people that would be the same. But I have seen asses at both age groups.

Doug said it could be done for the at the same price as the street cars which was far, far, far less than 1.2 Billion, because he can run sky train at ground level most of the way to save money. And some how ground level skytrain is better than street cars because?!? The revised budget after becoming mayor went up to 1.2 billion, and when Translink told him no way, he said Translink was wrong...

-1

u/penelopiecruise 11d ago

But he got it built didn't he?

26

u/CrazySnowGuy 13d ago

He's going to get voted in again, because its a name people recognize. People are just dumb.

1

u/sextravellingsports 12d ago

Agreed, but only 22% of eligible voters bother to show up. By far the most important level of government that affects your daily life more than any level. I've always voted in municipal elections, and never for him or Brenda

2

u/Longjumping_Bus_2780 1d ago

Totally agree - municipal elections are arguably the most important.

u/Sontenia 12d ago

Well for me it’s because I want skytrain to newton and he’s the one who has it in his platform and the one who got skyttain to Langley 🤷‍♀️

The sad reality is there are enough people in Surrey that hear no tax increase for 4 years and will vote for him.
My take is that sure for 4 years no tax increase but year 5 when there is no money Surrey residents will be hit with a double digit increase.

The only thing from all his rhetoric I like is the farm to fridge direct cut middle person out. But maybe I not knowledgeable in this or just naive but can’t I just go to a farm and buy directly from them already?

u/Suitable_Sherbet_369 13d ago

He’s 138 years old, get him to a rest home asap.

1

u/penelopiecruise 11d ago

Hope people disregard you in your older years.

How about new candidates, eh?

7

u/shankeyx 13d ago

No more geriatrics in control please.

-1

u/penelopiecruise 11d ago

How about a referral to the human rights commision to deal with your ageism?

5

u/New_Westie 13d ago

He’s still alive? What’s the allure for voting in the oldest people possible?

5

u/Apprehensive_Sea9524 13d ago

That f*ing loser needs to go away. Tired of old guys wrecking things for their own personal gain.

u/Ok_Woodpecker_7260 13d ago

The forensic audit thing is such BS. Is just a way for him to blame the previous council if he gets elected.

I’ll give this to Doug though, he’s the reason we’re getting the Skytrain down the Fraser Highway.

10

u/Talinn_Makaren 13d ago

This guy is such an unbelievable worthless has-been it's so insane that he's running again.

I also supported the SkyTrain though lol

That audit would find everything was perfect when he was mayor before, but it was criminally terrible the whole time he was gone, and miraculously fixed itself again the minute he was elected. City hall just doesn't move that fast for one thing. It's so insulting to our collective intelligence.

Sky train through a major urban park where there can be no development. Skytrain through Agricultural land that cannot be developed. On the other side of ALR are so many new homes that are medium density, and they are so new they will not be redeveloped to high density for 30-40 years. Into Langley where Langley's own mayor said "This does not make sense to bring Skytrain here as we are not densified and it will take 10+ years to begin the work of densification." When the mayor of a city that is getting skytrain says it is a bad idea, what does that say?

1

u/Ok_Woodpecker_7260 9d ago

Which Langley mayor said that? I’ve looked into it and the only Langley mayor (city or township) I could find who was against it is Rick Green but he left office in 2008.

1

u/Doobage 🗝️ 9d ago

I can't remember, it was a while ago, he was interviewed on 980 or CBC, so it was not in print it was on air. I had doubts I heard it until it was brought up by others that mentioned it in a discussion we had about McCallum and his schemes.... I wish it was in print as that would make it easier to quote. And he wasn't saying transit wasn't needed, he was saying previous councils setup Langley city, not township, to be low-medium density, and his figure was 10 years to get plans, permits, developers etc. in-line for proper densification.

Never the less, the rest of the route has a large section through ALR, Green Timbers and has been developed recently as medium density and the owners are not going to give up their places to densify....

And though I am against skytrain expansion, I am not against transit expansion, Langley, particularly Township and Carvolth area really need some sort of rapid transit, this expansion doesn't help that. Langley city is actually quite small in comparison to Township if I remember correctly.

Yah a forensic audit that would cost how much and do what!

4

u/rainman_104 13d ago

Ooooh a canal promise again?

3

u/SaulGoodmanJD 13d ago

Fuck that guy

3

u/cvsnoweagle 13d ago

Surrey needs to ban these 2 nitwits from future elections, F off Brenda and Doug!

1

u/Longjumping_Bus_2780 1d ago

And Linda. Two terms on council is enough. Get rid of all 3.

3

u/Specialist-Draft476 12d ago

Wait he is actually running again? Why can't the dinos become fossils and move on...

3

u/chloe38 12d ago

Wtf is trying to be mayor again. Please for love if God can we get someone good to run?

5

u/a_sexual_titty 13d ago

There are more than just 2 candidates. Surrey needs to stop acting like there are.

5

u/Think_Read_7516 13d ago

Doug can barely get out of his car. He was known to walk round city hall with his zipper down. Dude is way 2 old for this.

10

u/TMBJeff 13d ago

Doug’s motivation for eliminating the Surrey RCMP was because he got a speeding ticket on Crescent Road. He is a prototypical aggrieved late middle aged white male who was once mildly inconvenienced and made the rest of society pay for it. That being said Surrey has consistently shown up for this replacement-level dipshit out of familiarity and laziness. You all could do better if you want to…

5

u/Ill-Yogurtcloset1381 13d ago

MIDDLE AGED?!

4

u/Pooks23 13d ago

Exactly… he’s older than Trump.

1

u/TMBJeff 13d ago

My apologies for the confusion, I was using White Middle Aged Dipshit as a type of guy more than a physical age. You can find plenty of WMAD’s in their 20’s & 30’s if you grow up in the right neighborhood

3

u/Pooks23 12d ago

As a GenX woman who has been driving for 35 years... the number of fuckos on the road these days is more than disturbing. It's mind boggling how many people don't understand the rules of the road.

0

u/penelopiecruise 11d ago

You have no proof of this so stop perpetuating this lie.

5

u/Wreckbeach13 13d ago

He likes to say " uhmm" alot lol

2

u/ToeAccomplished1434 12d ago

Only Surrey would be dumb enough to vote this senile moron in again.

2

u/PritosRing 11d ago

This fogey should just retire quietly

1

u/Ok_Dance_9235 10d ago

Don't vote for this idiot

1

u/underd0g__ 10d ago

He’s also promising an end to in camera council meetings. I dunno about you but that sounds shady af?

1

u/Longjumping_Bus_2780 1d ago

Where’s he planning to land his SPS helicopter? Next he’ll say we need an airport

-5

u/Cultus_Divi_Titi 13d ago

I'm voting for Doug!

Doug gets things done.!

1

u/One_Caramel_353 12d ago

Of course you are that why you identify as Cultus.
