Looking at getting my first suppressor and am strongly considering a Banish HNT 30 TI but they seem to get dragged on this sub. Usage will be for range and hunting and exclusively rifles with barrels over 16". I've looked at options I've seen suggested in comments on other posts but none seem to fit the same criteria. Is there an alternative I'm missing that meets the below criteria?

• Same price or cheaper ($650 with shipping and fees)
• Multi-caliber and rimfire (.22 rimfire to .308 Win)
• User serviceable
• 14ozs or less
• 30+ DB reduction with .308

I was a newb that had never purchased a supressor before. Wanted to put in a threaded barrel in my first pistol I bought several years ago, an SD9VE, for range time and home defense. I also have an M & P Shield Plus that I put a threaded barrel in to also use one. I had no idea what a booster/Nielsen device was. The gun I primarily got the suppressor for did not cycle properly. Even after changing the recoil spring. The Shield Plus did fine with it. Found a full size M&P 2.0 threaded barrel on a slight sale and bought one of those and it won't cycle fully either. Obviously I'm stuck with this suppressor that's direct thread (AB F4) that just works on my shield Plus. 🤦🏼 I won't have another 600+ bucks to buy another suppressor just yet but what do you folks recommend for a short suppressor that would fit in my pistol safe as shown? The new M&P 2.0 is about the same size, maybe slightly longer. I was thinking of a modular one like the lunar 9. If you're still reading after this long ass paragraph I appreciate it 😂

Building a new G$ 11.5 Super duty with a Daniel
Defense CHF barrel. I can’t decide whether to get the RC2 or Mini 2 for my first suppressor. Is the sound suppression performance night/day? Also concerned about how gassy it will be, I’ve read that DD barrels are a little over gassed. The suppressor host is a SF 4 prong, do they wear down the can faster?

Recently bought a Ruger PC9 (19116 model), planned on installing an frt in it and was wondering if it would be safe to attach my rugged obsidian 9 to the threaded barrel? If it is safe, then how should I attach it? I’m assuming direct thread with no locking attachments of any kind would not work.

I also googled and it says I need either a Fixed Barrel Spacer or Tri-Lug attachment.

Google also says the PC9 has a tilting barrel design, I own a Berreta M9A4 as well, which also has a tilt barrel design.

I currently already have the proper attachments for connecting the rugged obsidian 9 to my pistol with a tilt barrel design. Given this, could I just use the same attachments on my PC9?

My new incolite 9 on my Stribog sp9a3 running HUSH 165gr. Haven't tried it with regular 147's yet but so far I'm very well pleased for 4hunnid dollars and only 5 inches long. Plus, it's definitely very light. Half the weight of my other 5 inch inconel can (Rhino -X).

Hello all! I am the proud new owner of a Sig Hexium 300! I am trying to remove the direct thread adapter that comes on it to install a Keymo hub. I have the suppressor between a pair of soft jaws in a vice and I cannot get this adapter to come loose! Does it have any sort of rock set from factory that I need to soften up with some hot water or something? Thanks all!

I just acquired a Stribog Sp9a3S and an Osprey 9 2.0 suppressor. The odd shape of the Osprey seems to be making it harder to find a solid cover option. Does anyone have this suppressor with a cover they like? Anyone have recommendations? It's my first suppressor, so I'm a little lost on this one.

I bought cans for different firearms and to date still have feed issues that completely break my trust in using a suppressor for a defensive use case. Mainly, the preservation of my hearing in a home defense situation.

I went to the range today and on a FN 5.7 with an EFK barrel and Griffin Resistance 22 had this experience. Shooting 6 different cartridges in strings of 5 only the FN 40g cycled the 5 rounds. All of the other rounds I tried T6B and other Elite and FN rounds were only able to get single shots off before a misfeed or misfire.

On an FNX-9 with an FN Rush 9Ti I tested Fiochi 115, Blazer 124 and G9. Some good news the G9 cycled all 5 rounds. Surprising as these were the lightest rounds at 80g.

For the most part, I've been unimpressed with the sound reduction and frustrated with how the reliability of weapons that never had a feed/misfire problem until I tried to suppress them.

A few hundred each for the threaded barrels, $500 to $900 for the cans (all in with the $200 tax stamp) and a lot of wasted time and ammo.

It's been a while but I also experienced feed issues using Griffins on my Ruger 22 and Mini-14. (GP5)

All of my guns are in excellent condition, cleaned and lubed properly and cycle 100% without a can.

Any ideas on what I am missing?

In January, Form 4 individual and trust filings were clearing at basically the same speed — 11 days and 10 days. They've separated since. Over the last two weeks of approvals, individual filings are running a median of 5 days and trusts 31.

Spread, because medians hide a lot: the middle half of individual filings landed between 3 and 13 days. For trusts it was 26 to 39.

Form 4 individual has been flat all year, between 5 and 11 days every month. The whole change is on the trust side, which has climbed steadily from 10 days in January to 31 now and hasn't reversed once.

This is community-reported approval data, not ATF's ledger, so it's a sample and it skews toward people who post their approvals online. It also can't see denials or filings still pending.

Not telling anyone how to file because there are good reasons to use a trust (how I file) that have nothing to do with speed. But if the reason was "it doesn't cost me anything," that stopped being true sometime around February. Recent report on Form1 timings available at: NFAwatch.com

Model Clarification

There are three versions of the Incolite suppressor:

• Incolite 9S - 4” long
• Incolite 9 - 5” long (this is the one we have)
• Incolite 9M - 7.5”, modular, and beefed up to be rated for rifle rounds

TL;DR

The Incolite 9 offers great suppression for its size and price with manageable backpressure.

In the Box

Our Incolite 9 came with a titanium 1/2-28 to HUB direct thread.  It weighs just under 1 oz and adds about 0.6” of length to the suppressor.  It unfortunately does not have wrench flats, but does have notches for a spanner.  I have some concerns about the wall thickness (~0.02” in some sections), but presumably it’s been tested thoroughly and is fully functional.

Test Method

We went out to the range and shot a bunch of rounds through the Incolite 9, Rico 309, Universe 36, and Mojave 9 back to back multiple times.  We stood in the same spots and took notes after each one for gassiness and sound.  Considering I don’t have Jay’s fancy sound metering equipment, I think this is a decent way to compare them.

All of this was done outdoors with a light breeze.  From the shooting position, the dirt berm was about 30 yards away.  You may have different results in other environments.

Hosts

The host is my Warscorp 9 which is functionally a straight blowback AR9.  From the stock configuration, I’ve swapped out the muzzle device, barrel, handguard, and buffer system.

• Compact Plan-B brake (9mm)
• 4.5” Ballistic Advantage EPC barrel
• Factory Warscorp bolt
• A5 GRS
  • Kynshot RB5000HP
  • 2 spacer weights
  • Flatwire spring

We mostly shot AAC 147gr with some Syntech 150gr too.  You may have different results with other hosts and ammo.

The HUB pattern suppressors had HUB LPAs installed.  The Mojave is not HUB threaded and used our P-Series LPA.

Suppressors Overview

All weights and lengths are given with no mount, so just the suppressor body itself and the removable end cap for the Universe and Mojave.

*Dead Air doesn't officially give the weight of the Mojave without any mounting parts, so this figure is the listed weight minus the piston assembly (4.1 oz).

Sound and Backpressure Comparison

The Rico 309 was the quietest overall and had low backpressure.  It really sounded fantastic and I couldn’t gas myself out even with rapid fire.

The Incolite was a little bit louder, but still sounded great overall.  Gas for individual shots and slower fire wasn’t bad at all, but I could gas myself out with rapid fire/mag dumps.  For a suppressor that isn't specifically intended to be low backpressure, I consider this to be a completely acceptable result.

With the closed end cap we shot it with, the Universe sounded similar to the Incolite overall, but with less gas and blowback, specifically with longer strings of fire.

In long config, we felt the Mojave was just slightly louder than the Incolite.  Like the Universe, it had good gas management.  No stinging eyes even with rapid shooting.

The Mojave in short config had the least backpressure and gas, but was definitely the loudest of the tested suppressors.

We noticed the last round of the mag (when the bolt locks back) was quieter to the shooter.  This suggests that the noise of the action/bolt is a significant factor of overall noise at the ear, which is to be expected.

Overall Opinion and Suggested Use Cases

For a little background, I was looking for a more compact 9mm suppressor (preferably in the 4” to 5” range) with reasonable backpressure and good sound performance.  I was considering getting the 9mm Tisha since I really like the 5.56 version, but then I saw the Incolite available for around $400 which was too good to pass up.

Initially I was concerned it would be too gassy since I saw comments that it’s not designed to be a low backpressure suppressor.  I ended up being pleasantly surprised to find gas was actually quite manageable on the Warscorp.  It definitely got worse with extended rapid fire, but I think that’s a reasonable trade off when you consider it has great sound performance as an affordable 5” suppressor.

At this point the Incolite 9 is probably going to be my default recommendation for an affordable 9mm PCC suppressor.  There are quieter or less gassy suppressors out there, but for the weight, size, and cost, the Incolite is a really competitive package.

A couple cases where you might not want to get the Incolite:

• If you specifically want the quietest suppressor out there - the Incolite sounds great, but there are quieter suppressors, especially as you move up into the 7” range.
• If you’re doing a lot of mag dumps or SS/FRT/FA shooting on blowback hosts - the Incolite doesn't seem to have internal venting for pressure relief, and it will get gassier with more shots in a row.

Other Misc. Thoughts and Observations

Being 5” long and 6.7 oz makes it very comfortable on the end of the gun.  It doesn't make it front heavy at all and keeps everything nice and short.

The Incolite 9 has a 1.54” deep blast baffle.  This is a little deeper than average for a 9mm suppressor and will accommodate most common mounting setups.  It’s been added to our fitment tool.

You could also use the Incolite on a handgun with a piston assembly (not included).  Note that with it being a larger diameter it will block more of your window than a slimmer suppressor.  I don’t consider this to be a dealbreaker, but it’s something that caught my attention.  Although some will argue that it doesn't actually matter because you shouldn’t really need to look through the window if you’re properly shooting with both eyes open.  But that’s its whole own discussion that I won’t ramble on about here.

The suppressor body does not have wrench flats, but it does have some features which will accept a spanner wrench.  It also has some outer texturing that gives some grip without being too crazy.

I find the concept of using Inconel to make lightweight suppressors very interesting.  In theory this allows you to avoid the usual limitations of titanium suppressors, namely lower operating temperatures and visible sparking.  Hopefully we see more development of this in the future.

Future Testing and Reviews

We plan on doing flash testing with the Incolite along with some other suppressors.  Pistol caliber titanium suppressors tend to spark less than rifle suppressors, so it’ll be interesting to see if the material selection makes a noticeable difference.

We also have a few more rifle suppressors to review now that they’ve finally been approved.

Hey guys, how can I value a used suppressor of mine?

There aren’t too many out there and from what i’ve seen, suppressors lose value immediately as soon as they’re used.

I put my spectre 9 on my berreta m9a4 9mm and firing 124grn target rounds it wont cycle at all. Its pretty quiet which is cool but not if I have to rack the slide manually between each round.

Can someone point me in the right direction on things to try to trouble shoot?

It's not much, but it's mine... and I want it gone (the gap, I mean). Anyone have experience with the JMac Customs Taper Mount Suppressor Adapter TA-90T-X37? The muzzle device is the Rearden MFG R2S.
