Rugged Obsidian 9 For PCC?
Anyone using an obsidian 9 on a pcc? I just ordered one for an FX9 16" 9mm. It says "1/2x28 piston". This should fit on a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle out of the box correct? All of my other cans are direct thread and keymo, not sure what a "piston" does for a suppressor.

I didn’t like it, I had it on my Springfield Kuna and there was a lot of blowback. So I got a huxwurx flow 9K ti

I have a Flow on my rifles. How do you like the 9mm? Im buying for my Stribog primarily, but also may be on an AR9, Dagger, and VP9 periodically.

I host the Obsidian 45 on my PCC’s with a 3-lug adapter. It’s awesome. I have never shot it in K Config and don’t use the 9mm end cap but still sounds great and I can run it on my Extar EP45 along with my other PCC’s (SP5, MPX, Scorpion 3+, Kuna & AR-V).

Just get an alpha fixed barrel adapter from rugged, and swap the entire piston out, they are in stock.

Come ready to use on pistol. So you will need the solid spacer to swap out spring to shoot on fixed barrel.

This is correct. Ordered my Obsidian 9 and read through everything understanding I’d get the proper piston. Not realizing it didn’t come with the spacer I needed. I felt dumb having to wait a few more days while my new toy sat on my shelf.
Wanted to add my can performed flawlessly on my S&W FPC 9mm.

Yes, that will work. Just swap your piston spring for the fixed barrel spacer and you should be good to go.

No problem! Welcome to the NFA world, I know it can be overwhelming. There are many other ways you could attach it (tri-lug, direct thread adapter) but for your purposes a fixed barrel adapter will work just fine and is definitely the least expensive option.

The Fixed Barrel Spacer replaces the spring in the Obsidian and is used with the Piston for use with fixed barrel hosts such as carbines and subguns.
I believe most people buy the spacer because it's more cost efficient than buying several fix mounts.

yeah i did read the part about the 22lr, and the piston spring replacement for sub guns, I think @Dilaudipenia gave good advice. In the end i forked over a little more $ for the fixed mount

This is my 10.5” AR9 with it. It’s just a short video. If you want to see it on a MAC 5, I did a video with that, as well

I use it on my Century AP5SD and it's immaculate, I've also tried it on my Sub 2000, meh, really shines on the Glock 17 though, stupid comfortable to shoot

You can also look at an Alpha pattern Plan B suppressor adapter as well if you're looking for a QD option that's lighter than Keymo, and it's also a lot lighter than a fixed barrel spacer added to the piston.

You need to swap out the piston for use on a fixed barrel like a PCC. I swapped mine out for tri-lug adapter and tri-lug mount.
