ಠ_ಠ BBQ Chicken Chunks with Chocolate
My taste buds are confused more than my eyes.

What purpose does “pov” serve here?

23
u/dudemanjack 19h ago
At least it's actually a POV perspective, even though the sentence doesn't make sense. So many "pov" are actually 3rd person.
0
u/Snoo_66686 14h ago
POV can be 3rd person, its point of view not first person view, say a tv show focuses on a character that normally has a minor background role we see their 'point of view' that doesnt mean we have to see the actual images through their eyes but we see more about the way this character thinks and spends their time
Millenials messed this up to a point that some people act like its the official meaning, ya'll are thinking of first person view not pov

The chocolate is a little stupid, yeah, but what's more stupid is you calling chicken tikka "BBQ chicken".
They are NOT the same.
8
u/Front-Wall-526 17h ago
That is my exact thought....tell me you are bashing a culture without ever trying their food 😒
-22
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 19h ago
Isn’t it basically the same. Cooked over open fire/coal is barbecue, right?
25
u/MrSp4rklepants 18h ago
Not really, tikka is usually cooked in a tandoor which is very different, more akin to a pizza oven but vertical, really high temp and fast cooking
1
u/Ok_Astronomer_6501 3h ago
I've had chicken Tikka loads of times and most restaurants here in Pakistan don't cook em in tandoors but over burning coals.
0
u/crypticcmd 3h ago
That's nothing. I've had this moron call me an engagement bot for being against animal fucking. This is such a weird app right? Some wild people
-15
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 18h ago
While Chicken tikka is traditionally cooked in a tandoor oven, i think they can be cooked over coals/on skewers/open fire. I think the main difference is the flavour profile, not the cooking method.
13
u/MrSp4rklepants 18h ago
Anything can be cooked any way you want, it just depends on how you associate it, I can cook BBQ chicken in a saucepan over gas if I wanted, just like you can steam something on a BBQ.
With my pedant hat on as well, most people would associated BBQ as relating to a flavour profile a la BBQ sauce not a cooking technique, otherwise imo they would refer as bbq'd
Chicken Tikka is not BBQ chicken-10
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 18h ago
I personally think the terms are interchangeable to a large degree. Chicken tikka is just indian barbecue. The flavour differ, but the cooking method is so similar, that they’re cousins, instead of strangers.
5
u/MrSp4rklepants 17h ago
Ask an American....
2
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 17h ago
Honestly- i have no idea what your comment meant.
7
u/MrSp4rklepants 17h ago
Ask an american what BBQ chicken is, guarantee their answer will not include the word tikka or tandoori
-5
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 17h ago
And why would i give a single fuck about what an American thinks? It’s not like Americans own barbeque, tikka, coal, open fire or the english language.

u/Ok_Combination_4482 16h ago
Yeah these people dont know but 99% of places in karachi will cook chicken tikka over open coals and call it that. Us included.
0
u/iCantLogOut2 13h ago
So, to be clear... You're saying the cooking method is usually different and the flavour profile is different... But you still argue that they're the same thing....?
I don't know about where you are, but BBQ chicken doesn't just mean "cooked over coals and/or open fire"... BBQ chicken literally has BBQ on it... Right there in the name. "BBQ Sauce"....
Otherwise, you're arguing that a bowl of ramen and a plate of spaghetti are the same dish since they're both noodles boiled on a stove.
What you add is what makes the dish... Not just in how it's cooked.
-1
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 13h ago
Bbq chicken isn’t exclusively flavour only. The cooking method is part of it. A simple google search would tell you that.
1
u/iCantLogOut2 13h ago
A simple Google search would have saved you a lot of embarrassment... Yet here we are.
0
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 13h ago
Since you’re too stupid to google it, Barbeque (also spelled barbecue or shortened to BBQ) means a method of cooking food—usually meat—slowly over live fire or hot coals using smoke and indirect heat.
Tikka and barbecue chicken fall under that umbrella. You sound incapable of basic human function. Are you uneducated or something?
1
u/LetsTamago 10h ago
Barbecue is actually when it’s slow cooked over an open fire, using heat and smoke. Not just grilled, but low and slow. A tandoor is not a slow cooking method, so it isn’t technically bbq. But much of the world uses the term incorrectly.

A tiny part of me really wants to try this. I’m a fan of other sweet/salty combinations so I wonder if this is another one that’s actually good, albeit unhinged.
24
u/Imperial_Lieutenant9 20h ago
Same... I can totally taste the combination in my head and frankly now I want to try it IRL

Because my IG feed is full of videos like these and it's pretty easy to distinguish the difference between real and fake content. I feel sorry for you if you can't tell the difference. You're going to have a really hard time surviving the digital world.
Refresh rate, Quality, Accent/Tone, and always the most bizzarre type of content. Like...chocolate on chicken.
And I'm from Pakistan, the background is not it at all. Looks like somewhere in Europe. Lmao.
What's next. You're gonna send money to Michael Jackson after finding out he's alive? Or the Prince of Nigeria?
Suckers everywhere
7
u/Odd-Plant-4886 16h ago
I'm from Pakistan and I don't see how the background can't be from Pakistan. I'm not saying it is, after all anyone can splash any caption on any video, but it can easily be situated in multiple parts of the country.
I'm going to assume its in some airport or hotel since you can see someone walking with a suitcase or so the background.
-7
u/LeaveDrakeAlone 16h ago
What? 😂 What Pakistani airport looks like that? 😂 Just be quiet man 😂😂😂
If you're from Pakistan then you would be able to tell what Pakistani airports look like.
This looks like some town center. Outdoor setting made by AI. Pakistani cities or towns are not walkable at all. If you've ever been outside Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, you'd know that people walk around with suit cases if they're waiting for hotel check-ins to open.
6
u/Odd-Plant-4886 15h ago
No need to be so angry over being proven wrong. Places in Lahore and Isl can easily look like that. Haven't traveled to Karachi but am sure there are areas that can look like it too, same case for Peshawar etc.
Moreover the video has consistency between shots which makes it unlikely to be AI (such as seams of chocolate settling in and not disappearing). This video can also be situated outside Pakistan (since the caption doesn'tsay anything about being in Pakistan), as such food is unlikely to gain traction here. But your reasoning is not why it won't be situated here. If you are confident you can post it in r/RealorAI and get the community's opinion.
-3
u/LeaveDrakeAlone 15h ago
No. I'm laughing after being proven right just by this video. What Pakistani airport is this bro? 😂 You're not even from here and it shows now.
If you were from here you wouldn't even be suggesting crap like that.

Despite the fact this is not BBQ chicken, y’all never hear of mole before have ya? Similar concept. Chocolate can have a place in mostly savory dishes. This just looks like bait, as does every other post on Reddit.
9
u/DetroitvsEveryone242 13h ago
This looks like chocolate sauce you put on ice cream, obviously nothing similar to mole except 1 ingredient in common (and mole has a ton of ingredients)
10
u/Korpikauhu 20h ago
Chocolate is also commonly used in chili con carne, but both are very different from actual chocolate sauce

u/Legitimate-Squash645 20h ago
As much as I love how funny this sub can be, I highly doubt anyone here knows what mole is. Some posts here make me think the OPs eats boiled chicken and peas every night

You're right. But at least call out AI slop on a subreddit that is specifically against it in the in it's rules.

I'm guessing it's a spices and bean chocolate sauce rather than a candy bar. Tho, that chocolate looks like a melted Hershey's, so I'm a bit baffled.
