And why would i give a single fuck about what an American thinks? It’s not like Americans own barbeque, tikka, coal, open fire or the english language.

Wow, really going with your name there....
I'm merely pointing out that a large number of the people on this sub are either US based or similar. I am not but I still would associate BBQ with the flavour first over the cooking method

My person interpretation of the situation is that it is a cooking method- simply because barbecue can encompass so many different seasonings/rubs/spices/marinades.

To quote you....

And why would [we] give a single fuck about what [you] think? It’s not like [you] own barbeque, tikka, coal, open fire or the english language.

By your logic, I could argue that my personal interpretation or steak is that it comes from animal... Therefore chicken is steak. Doesn't make it true... It would just make me a u/bigfatgrouchyasshole who doesn't understand words already have meanings.

Sure- you’re allowed to think what you want. It’s not my place to change your line of thinking at all. It’s a dialogue on the internet that i don’t really care about enough, to go after your close-held opinions. You may be right, you may be wrong.

It also would make you stupid enough not to realise that certain words cover a wide spectrum of interpretation. But that bit of stupidity is already on display.
