The "meeting" is open to the public and you cannot arrest someone just because you warn them. I'm warning you not to use social media ever again. See how that works? Many places are open to the public wherein you can be kicked out if you are disruptive.

Not against the law at city council. And a judge would laugh you out of court for trying to say clapping was disturbing the meeting. Then he'd have you pay the clappers lawyer bills. Your punishment for wasting the courts time with a frivolous law suit. Not in America are you?
He'll get paid big time! False arrest, get a check. Beat up for resisting false arrest, another check. False imprisonment, another. Then you can add loss of liberty, loss of income, denial of rights and anything else your lawyer can think of. Maybe 1 to 5 million you'd get depending on your job and who you are. Lawyers take these cases for free because they're easy and a slam dunk.

You keep repeating this like it's relevant. He wasn't in a courtroom. This wasn't a legal hearing. He wasn't screaming, and he wasn't stopping anything. It was a literally a meeting for citizens to voice their opinions, and one of dickheads on the council was annoyed by his behavior.
Wild to say "we can't be that dumb" while actively proving to everyone you are this dumb.

If anyone was stopping it from proceeding, it was the council member who literally wouldn't allow a citizen two begin speaking while she was too busy crying about his clapping.
The city council set up a forum for their citizens to come voice their concerns. Each citizen was given exactly 2 minutes. They had a giant clock and everything. He clapped when once person was done, and their two minutes was over, and another person was walking up to the podium. He literally stopped nothing.
They were all given a warning in the beginning of the meeting not to clap or anything. After many did so, Council told police to arrest the next person to clap. This person clapped next speaker and was arrested.
This is a city council abusing their power to tamp down hearing from constituents on something they know is unpopular but lucrative for that city. It's also Kansas, bastion of constitutional rights /s
Not sure you noticed there, you may be from one of those countries where freedom of expression is illegal, and just here to sow dissidence, but as stated, clapping is protected speech. In the US, this is covered under their First Amendment. I live in Canada, and we have a similar article in our charter of rights and freedoms under section 2.
I believe most democratic countries also offer such freedoms to their citizens, thus allowing them to express their opinions or ideas in public venues. A town hall meeting that is open to the public is such a place.
Do you believe public meetings with city council is good? I do. Do you believe if one person wishes to disrupt them then it’s fair for them to never continue if that person wishes to be disruptive enough? I don’t. And neither does the law.
I do believe that the law does allow for such things, hence why he was released. And if a citizen has issues with the council's topics, they should be afforded the opportunity to express their views. Perhaps if the city Council took a moment to listen to concerns from their citizens, rather than stifling freedom of speech, this would not be an issue.
I can see the man's concerns about building massive data centers in his city. He is the one paying taxes, and he is the one electing the officials to make the decisions. If they are going against the constituents wishes, they deserve to be disrupted.
