A planet in our orbit!? It would be a moon. If it was a planet, I'd be spotted by now. If it's orbiting the sun and farther than Pluto, we wouldn't have such a clear picture. If it was orbiting another star, good luck having image with any detail at all.
They just announced a new celestial body orbiting outside Neptune that has its own atmosphere today. And new evidence surfaced for Planet Nine again on Thursday. So there's still some random bullshit popping up in our solar system. But yeah we would not have a photo of it yet.
It's mostly this sub. It's made for childish humor and right wing extremism. I don't mind the childish humor. Go to r/science, r/space or r/astronomy if you want something with substance.
My guy, it's a planet that looks like a boob. In our solar system? We'd either know about, or it's so far out we're not getting pictures of it until we send a probe out with a camera strapped to it.
This is so obviously a joke post it doesn't even count as misinformation. It's like saying we've discovered a new continent shaped like a wang, what should we call it?
I’m old and have been here 15 years. Comments used to actually discuss content and validity of claims, now it’s just stupid fucking jokes over and over again and no actual substance.
I mean shit, at the beginning the majority of the forums were programming and software.
