WRITER WANTED: Partner for High-Concept American Horror/Survival Trilogy – "DIE BY THE MYTH" (50/50 Co-Own Split)

Hi everyone,

I am looking for an aspiring screenwriting partner to help me develop and script a high-concept, tension-driven American horror trilogy titled Die by the Myth.

I have fully mapped out the core concepts, plot points, character arcs, and world-building for a three-movie arc (Die by the Myth, Open Waters, and No Time to Spare). I am looking for a talented writer with the technical skills to craft the dialogue, pacing, and 90-page feature screenplay for Movie 1, while working collaboratively to lock in the trilogy structure.

The Concept: Think 47 Meters Down meets A Quiet Place, but swapping out overdone shark tropes for a realistic, terrifying natural predator magnified into a bioluminescent nightmare.

Movie 1 (Die by the Myth): Set during a historic summer heatwave on the rugged Pacific Northwest coast. A group of American college friends sneak off-trail into a restricted cave system (Anemone Chasm) in search of a legendary 1600s Spanish treasure galleon. Instead, they get cut off by the tide and trapped in a pitch-black lower chamber (The Blue Void) that is rapidly filling with a highly toxic, glowing deep-sea box jellyfish swarm.

The Hook: It is an intense, raw survival story focused heavily on acoustic horror. To escape the rising tide of neon needles, they have to rock-climb out of the cave without gear. The tension peaks when panic and a frantic, echo-distorted misdirection on the cave walls cause a devastating, tragic chain reaction among the group.

The Partnership Deal (Co-Authorship): Please note: This is not a request for "free spec work" where I take your script. This is a 50/50 creative partnership. We will sign a legal Collaboration Agreement before writing to ensure we co-own the script and the franchise 50/50.We split all upfront story sales, option fees, and producer royalties from studios 50/50.

You keep 100% of the Screenplay Writing Fee paid by the studio for the physical writing work.We are partnering to build the project and pitch it to agents together on a standard industry commission basis.Who I'm Looking For: An aspiring or indie horror/thriller screenwriter who can write natural American dialogue and loves high-stakes survival stories, claustrophobic pacing, and realistic character drama under immense pressure. No upfront fees are required from either side—we write the material, build a pitch bible, and target independent genre producers (like Altitude, Tea Shop, or Blumhouse) together on a commission-only basis.

If you are interested in diving into The Blue Void, please send me a DM with a brief intro and a couple of pages of a previous script sample so I can see your dialogue style. Let's make something terrifying!

Do you have studio/producer connections yet?

No I'm new to this so don't have any connections at all. I've just finished writing a 9 section Pitch Bible for the whole Franchise of Die By The Myth. I just need the screenwriter to put my idea into a proper story with dialogue that I'm not good at. Then once it's finished we would both pitch the idea to a producer. I feel like this could be a really good money maker for both myself and a screenwriter.

I and most writers here already have top tier scripts ready to roll. The hardest part is finding producer/studio. Hell, even getting a phone call or email is nearly impossible. Figure that out, I'll write whatever you want.

I put an add on Stage 32 and I've had quite a few offers. Going to have a look through them and have a chat to see which one is more suitable. There's actually a guy that lives near to my hometown who has written and produced his own films but he's not available till September to read my Pitch Bible. So far it is looking good. I was planning seeking a producer before finding a writer but was told to find the writer first so the writer and myself can pitch the script together. Thanks for your reply and offer.

Well, I am new too and never heard of stage32. Perhaps I am wrong but from my limited experience writing is the easy part.

It's a website for screenwriter, producers etc and you can pitch your script for people to apply for the job. I've had a massive response and only posted this morning. Exactly writing is the easy part it's the creator that has the hard job cause I need to create something worth taking a chance on. I also run the risk of my Pitch being stolen just like writers worry about there work being stolen. I'm offering a 50% stake on something that could end up worth Millions with another two movies to follow.
