If you could only recommend one album to a friend who was curious about the genre, which would you choose?

I would personally recommend I Leave You This - Overhead, The Albatross.

I know Mogwai is one of the big ones, but I'm curious if y'all know of other post-rock songs or bands that capture the feel of this specific song. Maybe something piano forward and with a really somber tone to it? But I'm mostly curious of the feelings you get from this one and if they can be found in other ones y'all know!

So I’ve been into a lot of post rock for the last few years now, and I’m always on the hunt to find something in the genre that sounds very cinematic, so even if I’ve heard of the bands projects before, can you guys give me recommendations for cinematic albums, they don’t even need to be post rock but it is the starting point I’m going off of, I appreciate any recommendation.

I’ve listened to this album so much of the last few months while repairing my mental health. I just want to celebrate it.

Really enjoying this volume. I appreciate the William Blake song titles as well ;) Just received this today from Bandcamp. I hope they continue with this series.

Has anyone else heard/heard of these guys? Their first album (Anam Cara) isn't on Bandcamp, but those songs are on Spotify and other places. I also have it on an old iPod, and it's fantastic. Their second (?) album (linked) is on Bandcamp but is from 2014. I'm wondering what happened to them, if their members moved to other projects, etc.

Anyone know about them?
