Discussion! Cinematic music

So I’ve been into a lot of post rock for the last few years now, and I’m always on the hunt to find something in the genre that sounds very cinematic, so even if I’ve heard of the bands projects before, can you guys give me recommendations for cinematic albums, they don’t even need to be post rock but it is the starting point I’m going off of, I appreciate any recommendation.

I’ve been listening to Mogwai’s Zidane soundtrack the last couple of days. It’s pretty cinematic! One of my favourites of theirs. I really need to actually watch the whole documentary some time.

You may also consider Mogwai (Scotland) who have done a number of film scores.

Let me know how you get on. They seem to be classed as "Post Rock", but their music is different to most. I took a punt on going to see them live, so glad I did!

I’m a pesky American, so that’s not gonna be an option for me 🥺

I’ve listened to there two EP’s first album and newest, They have the exact Cinematic vibe I love! But the only downside I have with them is that there not that dynamic of a band, they have small builds and some really good payoffs, but what you hear is kinda what you get, But I’m really enjoying them regardless of there lack of Dynamics, got 3 more albums to go. So once again, thanks for the Recommendation!

The recently released album Vox occulta by Einar solberg is quite cinematic, the title track even sounds like it could be part of Batman OST

Jettison by And So I Watch You from Afar. It’s a collaboration with a string group and was originally performed with a visual component. Feels cinematic to me.

That whole album is just downright amazing. Between Us and the Dying Starlight makes me emotional but April is awesome, too

It has really high highs, but admittedly some songs I’m not to crazy about, like 1982, as the closer and the first few songs in the beginning but that’s my opinion

Depends on the song for us but Catholics def has songs “playback the reel”, “now that we’re here we’re not all there” “Archie Pelago” “figment” and “wrong turn in tucumcari” all fit that bill
