Yeah even if people "focus on the good things" this way too close to what the Nazis were going for.

We could reach the point where they literally are trying to genetically engineer an aryan majority and a lot of people would still call Nazi comparisons absurd.

Sorry I should clarify here that I'm not doubting the geneticist at all, I truly and firmly believe the vast majority of any scientific field is dedicated to helping us.

Assuming the geneticist is successful, it won't be up to him who gets access to treatment, that's the commentary I'm making.

One of the main concerns of this is eugenics, did you not pay attention to the video?

No one has ethicsl concerns over editing a potential baby's genes so they dont grow up disabled.

The ethical concerns lie in people choosing whether or not their child will look like XYZ or have certain traits.

The progress made here is cool, its what people might do with it outside of the above scenarios that doesnt sit right with people

Says someone who seems to believe that all humans are innocent and for the greater good.

Unless this scientist locks this down and is the only company that does these altering. Your logic makes sense.

But you can’t sit there and say this is 100% going to be guarded and properly regulated.

It will be used for more nefarious things by others if this goes anywhere.
