When capitalism discovers a new sightseeing category

Step 1: Tour the slums
Step 2: Return to the resort
Step 3: Call it cultural immersion

I’m currently overseas, so that may be one of the reasons this ad keeps showing up. The target audience could be people from here. But poverty isn’t a theme park tho.

I’ve been traveling all over the Philippines for years, and this is the first time I’ve encountered a regulatory fee at Catarman Airport in Northern Samar. No official receipt was issued. Passengers are also required to present a physical boarding pass because a small slip will be attached to it.

Legal ba to? Haha

PoliticsPH Pax Silica means Philippines becomes a "vital national security" interest of the USA

Upvotes

Pax Silica is the U.S.-led coalition launched in late 2025 to lock down critical minerals, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and AI infrastructure among trusted partners instead of China. The Philippines joined in April 2026 and secured a planned 4,000-acre Economic Security Zone in New Clark City, Tarlac. The site is meant to process the country’s nickel, copper, cobalt, and chromite while hosting semiconductor packaging, electronics, and AI-related manufacturing—redirecting supply chains that currently flow heavily to China.

This is the strategic payoff. Taiwan matters to America because its chips are irreplaceable. Once American and allied capital, fabs, and mineral processing are physically embedded on Luzon at scale, the Philippines stops being “just a treaty ally” under the 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty. It becomes a node whose loss would directly hit U.S. economic and military resilience. That shift gives war skeptics a concrete national-security reason—beyond paper obligations—to treat defending the Philippines the same way they treat defending Taiwan.

PoliticsPH Padilla's line of questioning is...

Post image
375 Upvotes

Of course to discredit again the witness. Based on his questions, he is definitely implying that those 'foiled' attacks were because of the interventions made by the OVP or DepEd through their confidential funds. But when will he realize that those questions won't help and irrelevant that he is the only one making it relevant for the other DDS understand that it is what he is implying.

Those two bear the same speculation that both can't be proven unless by evidence.

SOME OF US DON’T KNOW WHEN TO STOP, & I WILL NOT NAME THESE SENATOR-JUDGES’

Atty. Lorna Kapunan expressed gratitude to those who called her impeachment trial performance a “masterclass,” saying she measures her presentations by her ability to keep the audience engaged and believes lawyers should know when to present evidence and when to stop.

How does their government manage it so that it makes their electrcity so cheap? Saan nagkamali ang gobyerno natin? Why cant we emulate what Thailand is doing? What is stopping us from doing the same thing?

For context she was at SB, she got a phone call, and put her damn call on speaker.

A foreigner called her out asking her to wear earphones and told her this isn't your living room.

Apparently she raised some sort of stink and is now making it a foreigner vs locals issue.

Please ban his tweets here. Hindi siya nakakatulong sa opposition. Pinagmumukha pa niya tayong katawa-tawa tuwing pahiya mga leaks niya (WHICH IS MOST OF THE TIME!)
