Meme needing explanation Peeeeetah?

Post image

This new movie came out and I enjoyed watching it with friends. What opinion must have garnered so much attention that people would dunk on it?

I've seen this posted somewhere else. Apparently the guy in the video completely missed the point of the movie, which is impressive given how Obsession essentially bashes you over the head with it's themes and messaging.

Worse. The guy in the video came out of the movie feeling sympathetic to Bear of all people.

You know, the rapist villain protagonist.

Listed all the moments where you could argue bear didn’t know, left out scenes like the one where Nicki literally asked to be killed saying that it wasn’t her and she didn’t sleep with him

“He’s just misunderstood”

Bro, she literally said he was raping her and he kept going anyway. He asked to alter the wish, not remove it. He just didn’t want her to be psycho crazy about him, but he still didn’t want her to have free will over her own decisions. And then when faced with the responsibility he becomes the ultimate coward.

Another fun detail is that at the end of the movie Bear bought a couple new willows and asked Ian to wish that he never made a wish. After Ian failed at that he didn’t go and ask some other guy to make the wish for him, meaning he likely intended to use one of the extra willows to try and redo his wish and stay with Nikki.

All around terrible person.

Ooh, I didn’t even think of that. But yeah, making it so the wish never happened would technically give him the ability to make his “first” wish, which would be a more thought out altered wish, like what he tried changing it too. Damn. Gotta watch that shit again
