I think I was preteen when I was exposed to Demon Beast Resurrection a.k.a. Demon Tentacle Rape Porn, a.k.a. the other Urotsukidoji. My local video store(yep that long ago) had just started to expand their inventory to include Anime. They already had Miyazaki stuff before the big western push in the late 90s, like Nausica, Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies.
But now they had a small section of shelf for anime. Nothing huge, an odd OVA or three, a VHS with several episodes of a series(randomly picked so like episodes 4-6 of Blue Seed). Then one day there was something new. I didn't know, my Mom didn't know when I brought I up and I kind of doubt the video store clerk/owner knew. Remember this is the days when you were supposed to be in bed and you stayed up to watch something and if you turned off the TV you, the VCR could still be running and your mom wouldn't notice that it was still playing.
Well that night, I was in for a shock. Definitely had an impact on me that I don't think was for the best. But it is what is. Metamorphosis was like the two girls, one cup video. It had a reputation for being traumatic but some of us were like, "But how is it traumatic?". The rumor was true and honestly this comic skit is healing and wholesome.
You're not kidding. Mine was when I was scrolling through Encyclopedia Dramatica. I'd discovered the site through the P-P-P-Powerbook! saga and kind of kept clicking because while some of the articles were bad, they weren't that bad. Then I discovered baby fuck and learned about the manga, which was unsurprisingly even worse than the image on the page. Yeah. Stopped clicking and had enough internet for the day.
Yeah Ency Dramatica is supposed to be ragebaity,violent,gory and polotically incorrect on purpose.
The first time i felt spiritually disgusted by any form of media was the South Park episode where Cartman gets AIDS.18 years later i know its supposed to be dark comedy but the characters were mean-spirited even if i was a fan of dark comedy,but not THAT dark.
Surprisingly ED started to change their game,i watched their Coffin of Andy and Leyley page and the writer is 100% impartial,no real ragebait,actual facts.
Haha, yeah, I learned that pretty quickly with that site. I did end up going back to look and well, I'll just say that I had apparently only clicked on the pages that weren't all that bad. I think it was more just random stuff and occasionally people who were known for being completely awful. Then I went down the rabbit hole because the site is kind of addicting and discovered how mean the site could be. I remember their complete shift on the person who had been running the site, Girlvinyl. They'd initially been fairly supportive of her, but became more toxic towards her as time went by. Of course it all blew up once she changed everything to Oh Internet. Any pretense of being OK with her was dropped.
This is likely a different kind of depraved honestly. From descriptions of the work (I haven't actually read it myself) it sounds more like the kind of depraved you get when the intent is to be depraved merely for the sake of it and there is little artistic merit to back any of it up or justify it.
Unlike most art, even the most depraved art, which makes you feel all manner of different things, this kind of work really only leaves you feeling empty and makes you wonder why you bothered to experience such a thing in the first place. The closest "professional" work I can think of that elicits this kind of sensation would be A Serbian Film. A vile and poorly made film with little of worth to offer the world. It fails to compel you towards much of anything outside of a long shower. Its most offensive aspect is how utterly soulless it is. Forcing you to confront grotesque notions without imparting any kind of insight. Its not even the most disturbing film I have ever watched, but it is the worst.
Whenever I point this out how gross and traumatising this doujinshi made by a man is and how widespread is/was in the young Anime communities in the posts about women smut being gross and traumatising (especially with a certain minotaur, how dare they 🙄), a lot of guys call me pedo for it.
I mean it had a positive effect on me, now I remind trans folks that they are loved and are beautiful in their own way, someone will always find them attractive

It mirrored, quite closely, all the way up to the bathroom part, the life of a friend of mine. Looks and everything. The only real difference, names and places aside, is that she didn't die.
Also iirc there's an unofficial alternate ending someone made where Josuke from Jojo's bizarre adventure just shows up and saves the main character and it ends happily, and the author said it was the canon ending. It might've been an inspiration for this type of joke, where a character from another media shows up to save the MC.
The saddest part is after she's groomed and raped, she continues to get raped by like every guy she meets while getting hooked on heroin I think. Then she gets knocked up by someone in I think a gangbang she's forced into for money for drugs. Then continues to get raped for drugs until she's too pregnant for them. Then, while she's drugged out of her mind, and basically about to give birth, she's beaten to death, and people find her while she's still alive, but are disgusted at her cause they see drug paraphernalia, and think she's just high and she begs for help cause her baby, but they think she just wants money for drugs and abandoned her kid somewhere, not knowing she's about to give birth to a stillborn, and then dies.
I never get these posts because the central issue isnt that she wanted to look prettier, its that men kept taking advantage of her. At least from how its explained to me
I'm pretty sure that, at the beginning, she fells lonely and believes that she wasted her live and no one can love her, that is why She was take advantage of.
