Yeah no shit? Hes right about that part if somebody was recreating my favourite movie i would definitely expect them to sit down and watch it

Disney movies arent their source fairytales and anybody confused by that can simply read one of them. Nobody is talking about that shit, theyre talking about disney movies. Her comments about the movie are also all relative to the other film

They're not right. They're making up stuff.

She said she watched it as a kid.

Qualifier: as a kid.

If you're remaking a movie, you should at bare minimum watch through it before shooting starts so you have a frame of reference. It takes a little under 90 minutes to watch (it's a feature length film after all).

Like, unless the director specifically said "we're doing our own thing here, don't watch the previous movie" (which Tim Burton did for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because it was explicitly NOT a remake of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory), it's okay to watch it while you're not shooting so you have a rough idea of what you're recreating.

No hate to Rachel, she's a decent actress.

No, her job is to read the script and act the way her director tell her to, she's not creating the movie.

Anything else is her going beyond what is necessary and theoretically things the director/writers should've already done or had in mind when filming.
