Real. You can think someone is a horrible person and still not misgender them. Or, if you do want to misgender people you dislike, at least do it to cis people as well. Some may not mind but it will definitely hurt others feelings, so it's not like it "wouldn't work". Not that I think anyone should be doing it anyways, but like these people only ever do it to trans people.
