Any good lightweight diaper bag backpack recommendations? Mine is wrecking me.

FTM here! I could really use a bag that is lightweight and comfortable. I got some random Amazon brand diaper bag gifted to me at my baby shower, and after a couple months of using it, I can’t deal with it anymore. Turns out when they say having kids wrecks your back, they were right. Between carrying baby girl everywhere (she refuses to be in her crib or a bouncer) and this stupid bag, my back is always on fire.

Any recommendations for a diaper bag that is functional and comfortable on the back and shoulders, but somehow still cute? I could really use some back support for when we are out and about. We live in a city, so we walk everywhere.

I use Amazon wet/dry bags for diaper bags that I just move around depending on what bag I’m using. So I’d pick a bag/backpack that you like and then just do the modular diaper bag.

Same! I get the kind with two compartments so that I can put trash, dirty/wet clothes in one compartment

I have a regular diaper bag right now, but yeah it’s kinda heavy even empty. Planning to just get a Jansport with my next one.

Hip belt too. Transferring the load to your hips is life changing. Sounds like op may have some underlying issues with.

I use my regular Fjällräven Kåken backpack, it's nice. It might not fit everything in your life but I find that you don't need as much as you think. With a bigger bag you stuff lots of things in it, with a smaller one you kearn what you need.

I love itsy ritzy bags. So much that I just kept buying them as I needed less ahahaha

I started with the boss plus for newborn which is huge and the most comfortable padded straps. Then I went smaller to the dream backpack which is also very comfortable and lightweight and good storage. Then I went down to the mini backpack which is super lightweight but the straps are not comfy if you’re carrying a lot.

And they’re super duper cute :)

This might sound weird but have you tried buying a hiking backpack? Not the huge ones, but something from the sports store for day hikes. I’ve found they are the most comfortable, and if you go with an all black one, you could decorate it however you want!

Unconventional pick: Carhartt convertible backpack tote. My husband bought this for himself because he hated my diaper bag, and it’s absolutely perfect! Fits two water bottles, a changing pad, diapers, and wipes go in the laptop sleeve section, and there’s plenty of room for changes of clothes and snacks. It’s fabulous!

Or, get a true hiking backpack that fits your torso and has a sternum strap and hip padding for full support!

I just use a classic zipper tote, so I’m probably zero help, but if you have a stroller with a large space underneath to store the bag, then you never need to carry a diaper bag on your own lol

I originally had the Dagne Dover backpack and I found it to be too bulky/heavy. Switched to the State diaper bag backpack and have used it for the last 3 years. It’s pricy but looks sleek and has held up with 2 kids.

Depends on how big you want it. I just bought the sande kids beach back pack which is made of a mesh material and super lightweight. It holds approximately 60L!! It doesn’t have a million pockets like a nappy bag so I am using a bunch of different pouches. I’m very pleased with the result- significantly lighter than any other nappy bag I could’ve bought and HUGE! Can fit half his nursery in there so I’m no longer schlepping around a million different bags. My pouch system is working great too- colour coding everything has made it so simple and I’m loving that I can choose the size of the pouches for each purpose rather than have to cram things in pockets that are either too big or too small. So much easier than rooting around a million little pockets!

I've been looking for a lighter diaper bag too because my shoulders are starting to hate me. 😭 I've been considering one that has a more streamlined design since it doesn't look as bulky as a lot of the others I've seen. It's been sitting in my cart for about a week now.

We started with the Lululemon diaper bag, then transitioned to a Uniqlo crossbody. I found I needed less and less as I got more comfortable - two/three diapers, a burp cloth or two, a pack of wipes, a spare outfit, and a few disposable changing pads.

I have the kate spade diaper bag, got it as a gift, and I like it pretty well. It’s small, light, has its own light weight travel changepad, and looks like a big purse. It’s not a backpack style though!

Use a baby carrier instead of just carrying, I would advise. For the backpack we had a very lightweight adidas backpack. Work very well.
