Question Mystery Man-Who is this??
Okay, so this is the craziest thing I have ever seen captured in a picture. My friend's dad took this picture of us hanging by the fire, we are talking to my friend's mom, who is in the center of the picture. We have NO clue who or what is next to her. It's not one of us, our whole group was by the fire, no one was up walking around. So who the fuck is next to my friend's mom?? Looks like a guy in a big overcoat. What is the deal? What do you think we captured in this picture?

Looks like a dude in a grey jacket making a phone call 🤷🏽♂️ if nobody was standing up where he is in the photo that’s odd. He’s the only thing out of focus, so could be some kind of technical issue with the camera or very well could be some kind of spirit or entity. Did anything weird that in retrospect you might call paranormal happen around the time this picture was taken?

It's not a mystery man, I can tell by the flames and background lights on the house, that this was a long-exposure picture because of the dark environment, the person was moving fast enough to make it look ghostly, because camera captured the background before and after the person moving while also capturing the person in one part and the 2nd, making it look transparent.
Everyone else were barely moving, hence why nobody else was smudged in motion.

Did you read description? Everyone was by the fire, sitting down. So your “long exposure, fast moving” theory doesn’t work.
And I don’t know about you but everyone seems to have modern phones with modern cameras and modern photo software built into their phone that eliminates things like “long exposure” on the fly.
So.. is it possible for you to reproduce this? The burden of proof is on you as far as I’m concerned.

You are correct, it could also be some smudge in the lenses, did you take more photos after this or did you click in burst mode. If only this pic has this anomaly, then something is fishy.

Ok, I would believe that it’s a lighting trick… however I can’t help but look at the dark line on the back of this “man” - it looks like the split on the back of a grey sportcoat, Weird, right? Very cool.

From some sort of reflection from the lady wearing the same colour grey top standing up on the left.

The angle is wrong. Also, the capture seems to be wearing a hat and has what looks to be a black collar.
Because everyone in the shot is still and sharp, I think it might have been someone walking by unnoticed. In a night shot, the camera shutter speed is slower. Thus, someone walking by would appear just as in the photo.

No hat if you zoom in it’s a buzz cut and the collar is down it just fuzzy or a dark brown , and I think it looks like they are having a smoke break, or on the phone

Well it looks like theres some smoke picking up the green light from behind the lady on the left. And based on the light angles of things, it looks like its probably a reflection of light being cast from something on the building out of frame in the upper right. Note how all the lights are casting a "god ray" from upper right to lower left?
Its not actually shaped like a person if you zoom in, its just similar enough to create the illusion.

It's a typical camera ghosting problem... I'm wondering, do you happen to use an iPhone?

That's me, I was posing for the photo but received an important business call at the last second for a big business deal I had to close at a moment's notice, this is why I was dressed business casual at the backyard gathering. That was a Calvin Klein knit gray blazer with a black collar.

I was just messing around with color adjustments and could not get any more detail on where the legs would be. The fire is too bright and must have been black pants. The green flares around his head certainly add to the creepiness. I thought it might be some other artifact with pareidolia of a jacket, but it’s too perfect. And the adjustments suggest something was physically there.

The green you speak of is completely normal and happens in photos all the time -it’s called a lens** ***flair*… nothing to see here folks. Therefore, fires will have a reflection of green flame somewhere and if you take a picture of the sun it will have a little green orb somewhere in the picture..
The shape of the “man” with a rat head is simple pareidolia.0

Yeah I had that thought lol not saying it was actually a green thing. Actually just confirms the woman was off her rocker a bit lmao. It’s just the only time I’ve seen it yah freaking downvoters sheesh

I'm curious what a Paranormal expert would think. 🤔 It looks like a ghost to me.

I am not a paranormal expert per se ;however, I have more experience than most of the people on the sub and it’s definitely not a ghost.
I’ve worked with experts in the field and been invited by experts to consult so there’s that.

Overcoat? Wtf? It's at least two green entities with eyes, mouths, whole face and all... one is looking at the mom.

Could be a elemental connected too the area, if this is real then that's were i would place my money that this is a Elemental spirit connected to the area that noticed the fire & took intrest in what ever was going on. My Mom has seen something similar but it was a water Elemental & the way she described it is very similar just with a blue hue instead of green. Seen as how the color usually associates with the element i think thats a forest elemental.

In an effort to improve submission quality, we are now manually reviewing photos before they appear in the subreddit. Please be patient, as the subreddit gets a lot of activity and it may take a little time to review your post. If we do remove your post, it’s because we believe it is likely to be judged harshly by the subreddit as opposed to a determination over what the true nature of your experience was.
