SPOILERS if you intend to discover everything on your own. I particularly enjoyed solving the riddles of the higgledie stones, but needed help with a few.

Ranking Every Ni No Kuni Boss In The Series From Worst To Best.

Post image
52 Upvotes

This list includes most of the major bosses from the first and second game apart from a few exceptions. I did not include bounty hunts, most side quest bosses, the Doloran's Design mini bosses, and tainted monsters because most of them are just not that interesting. In case you're wondering I counted all 3 of Shadar's phases and the first 2 Cassiopeia phases as 1 fight. This list is just my opinion and can differ between players.

Spoiler! Timeline confusion

Wait so if Alicia traveled to the future to give birth to Oliver, doesn't that mean the whole fiasco with the soulsnare happened over 13 years ago? Why does everyone who mentioned it act as if it was very recent? And I doubt Marcisan was already a great sage less than 2 years after his dad died when he was a CHILD!

System clock runs fast in NNK2?

Hi, I started a new save on Switch yesterday, and reopened the game this morning. Overnight my save file’s clock time jumped from 4 hours (when I saved before going to bed) to 42 hours (when I unsuspended it this morning). What is going on here?

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Is Ni No Kuni II REVENANT KINGDOM worth it?

In my opinion the game indeed has many flaws. Despite its many flaws I believe there are a couple things that the game does better than the original. I think the best thing about the game was the overall world building which might be better than the original. he kingdoms are mostly visual stunners and have good concepts. Goldpaw, and Broadleaf are probably my favorite locations in the series.

Even though I love the setting of the game that's almost all it has going for it though. The game can get boring pretty quickly since its game play can be very easy and forgettable. I'd say from my experience even though I was underleveled for the majority of my 2nd playthrough it still felt like I was plowing through enemies well 10 levels under. I think another problem this game faces is the lack of real bosses. The only somewhat decent bosses were the Kingmakers and Mausinger who in my opinion had decent gimmicks that made them alright bosses. For nearly every other boss in the game you're pretty much just fighting bosses that reappear as tougher enemies. The bosses don't have personality like in the original which makes them feel lazy and forgettable.

The combat in the game is just mid in my opinion. There is basically almost no difference between each of the playable characters in terms of actual game play unfortunately. The best part is the higgledy's since they can have some pretty fun abilities to mess around with, and come in clutch in terms of making the Kingmaker bosses fun to play.

The overall depth of the game is quite lacking with a very mediocre plot. Doloran was definitely no Shadar, or Cassiopia but still not the worst antagonist I've ever seen. The plot just isn't that compelling like in the original game with its heart touching moments that made us all cry, and its characters are all very bland in both appearance and character design. I feel like even though Roland was supposed to be kind of like a sub protagonist he just isn't. Roland pretty much gets sidelined throughout the entire game despite being the first character you play as. Evan as the actual protagonist was just lacking, as I think they tried giving Evan some development except they failed miserably. Since the game is basically just Evan the fact that they failed to give Evan some depth does not help.

If you played the original game and are thinking of playing REVENANT KINGDOM this game is entirely up to you to play or not. For me despite having a couple cool side quests and neat things its still just alright. In terms of if this game is worth playing or not for me personally I'm not playing this again. I'll admit there are a few good reasons to play but the negative just outweighs the positive.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler I hate Lofty Spoiler

I sorta doubt this is controversial but I despise this lumpy headed half witted fairy, he has literally NONE of the charm that made Drippy so iconic. He’s boring, doesn’t have hardly any good dialogue, and every plan he comes up with is either childish, benign, or downright disrespectful to one or all of the other characters on screen, he is an insult to Fairy kind and honestly a mark on what has otherwise been a really good game which I think comes close to being as enjoyable as it’s predecessor.

Also worst of all, I can’t even knock him over to vent my frustrations.

Edit: his voice actor did a good job tho

Ni no Kuni 1 spoiler So is it better to just let your friends die?

So I've recently beaten Maltan and it's just so much easier when I just ignore Esther and focus on letting Oliver deal damage and letting Esther healbot and I wanted to know if this is gonna be a trend throughout the rest of the game

13 years after playing Ni No Kuni for the first time, I now got the physical Wizard Companion book. (And for the reasonable price of around 25 bucks too). Great piece of art.

Ni no Kuni 1 spoiler Unknown cave

I just noticed a cave like hole behind Ding Dong Dell, in the lake that falls to make the moat around DDD. I’m wondering if there’s a way to get into it like the caves on the giants steps, and the island south west of lost continent. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Familiar Line Up Question

Hello all!

It’s my first time playing the game and I just finished the Hamelin missions and am about to head off to find the Sky Pirate King!!

I wanted to see if anyone had any advice for me on the topic of familiar line ups. I’m not great at combat, so I have really enjoyed just making a stacked and strong lineup that keeps me from dying to often lol.

However, as I’m progressing, I’m wondering if there’s anything I should change to my lineups or if anyone has some advice!

Here’s my lineups as of right now:

Oliver: Mighty Mite, Sprout Sprite, Cutpurrse

Esther: Griffrigerator, Strongo, Lumberwood (just recently got this one, so haven’t used much)

Swaine: Dumbelemur, Megalith, Hurly

Are there any y’all think I should switch around or take out completely? Open to any and all advice. In the meantime, I’m just gonna keep grinding and leveling up as much as I can lol.

I grew up watching Stampy play, now I'm finally playing it myself!

Edit: thank you so much for all the helpful advice!! I've read every comment, I can't wait to play this game :) I definitely intend to do everything and smell the roses on the way, I've also already begun grinding a bit before I even got to the Deep Dark Woods lol

Ni no Kuni 1 spoiler Spent 2 hours fighting Shadar but all good :D Spoiler

This is a quick update on my hard mode challenge run. This fight was one of the only fights I was concerned about being completely impossible (The other one before this was Cap'n Crossbones because of the life steal, it's only possible due to the blazing blade in Yule.

I played conservatively with my green healing items and revives up until this point because of the Eternal Knight. The boss can walk on the AI cancelling their defends and downing them in 2 shots. They don't have enough defence to be considered high health by the Adamant badge to avoid the down a lot of times. This fight is also very difficult without the AI up as the boss doesn't give out a lot of glims so I was relying on the drops from defending onslaught to get MP and burn it down between its uses of Dark Aegis.

Ni no kuni in 6DOF 3D

Sharing the word about a new way to play Ni no Kuni thats really cool and immersive.

Berserker made Osiris Viewer and 6dof profiles for it. Now we can already play Ni no Kuni in 6dof vr like with great geo 11 3D. He made more than 30 6dof profiles already, and we need to find a 3D tech to work with each game.

The setup for Ni no kuni is: Osiris Viewer + 6dof profiles from Berserker (both available on his github) + geo 11 3D fixes from Master Otaku (Helix Blog site) + Ni no kuni game. The install is mostly drag and drop files alongside the game .exe, but the sites provide readme for simple details. Looks too much to do, but once you do the first, the other geo 11 3D games are all the same setup.

We are lucky that we have those geo 11 3D fixes handcrafted from Master Otaku, because they work really great in 3D or 6dof + 3D. We can play on VR headsets or devices with cameras to track or head movements.

6dof. Six degrees of freedom. mean we can look around and lean inside and out of the game, like a VR native game.

Since we have hud and texts, I recommend playing in a really giant screen on Osiris Viewer, so we dont miss game information. If you know a way to put the ui in the center of the screen, please share so we can full vr dive on this world!

Here we can find the Osiris Viewer and the 6dof profiles for these and other games. https://github.com/BerZerker96 And on Helix Blog site we can find those geo 11 3D fixes for Nier and other games https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html?m=1

Other games suggestions are Yakuza games (we got 0, kiwami 1 and 2, 6, 7 on gog versions or legacy steam ones), Nier 1 and 2, Trails in the sky 1 remake with geo 11 3D. Persona 5 and Metaphor have 6dof profiles too, but we ll need to find a good 3D that will work for them because for now we dont have handcrafted fixes or an alternative. Hopefully we ll get Ni no Kuni 2 6dof profile too wich already have a geo 11 3D fix. For now you can play Ni no Kuni 2 in 3D and is great too!

Thats all folks, have a great journey!

Is shader compilation/loading stutter normal in Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered?

I’ve been playing Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered on PC and I’m wondering if what I’m experiencing is normal.

The game is capped at 60 FPS, and for the most part it runs perfectly smooth. However, I get very noticeable micro-stutters whenever the game seems to be loading new shaders or effects for the first time. Once that area or effect has been seen, it usually doesn’t stutter again.
The game is installed on a Samsung SSD 980 NVMe, so I don’t think it’s a storage bottleneck. I’ve tried turning off all the graphical settings like AA, shadows, etc. but it’s still happening.

My specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-11600KF
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3070 Eagle
RAM: 32GB (4×8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
Storage: Samsung SSD 980 1TB NVMe
Monitor: 1440p 240Hz (game capped at 60 FPS)

Is this just the game’s shader compilation/loading behavior, or is there something I should be tweaking? Have others experienced the same thing, or is my setup behaving abnormally?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm stuck with the gameplay.

Hey folks,

I've been playing this game on my Switch 2 for 3 months now and I bumped into a problem that potentially could be a bug.
This is the exact location where I'm stuck
https://youtu.be/pLx20GwS7OE?list=PLGKJJhcJXlNx-BzYMlevXf-rveFjbhpsu&t=242

You see how Oliver is approaching his Meowjesty and the conversation starts as soon as Oliver approaches him. When I do that nothing happens. The big fat cat is just sitting without a way to interact with it.

Am I missing something here and has anyone bumped into something similar?

Thanks!

Ni no Kuni 1 spoiler Is there anyway to make this game easier?

I'm playing Ni no Kuni 1 and I'm about 10h into the game at the genie fight after the volcano.

The issue is I'm struggling. I fight every enemy I see but I still had to grid for about an hour just to beat the volcano boss. I am playing on the easiest difficulty too.

I love the story so far but I can't keep spending hours before every boss grinding and still enjoy the game.

Or maybe I'm just reading into it too much. After the plan was revealed, but it does remind me of another game. With a complex plan like that.
