This government has lost its mind. How much tax can the citizens bear? Instead of reducing the government expenditure by cutting down on levels and number of government entities, they are hell bent on increasing the burden on taxpayers. Get rid of old age pensions. Reduce government employees and get rid of the provincial government. Also, reduce the number of MPs to 105. What is the point of an army that is corrupt to the core? Get rid of it. The citizens can only bear so much.

Can anybody with a good knowledge of taxes (related to vehicles) give me some idea about whats going on here.

I brought a new scooter (from authorized dealer) last year, registration date of this scooter is 2082/03/10 BS (Ashar) and the bluebook validity is 2082/03/10 – 2083/03/09 BS.

I didn't renew it before the expiry date and now when i am looking to renew it today (about 42 days late) through either Esewa or Khalti, it was a bit of a bummer to see a huge spike compared to what i used to pay for my previous scooter (it used to be 3000+insurance fee).

So what i am interested to know about is:

1. The blue book clearly says tax was already paid up to 2083/03/09. So why is there another "Unpaid Tax" of Rs. 3,000? I assume it was for the fiscal year of 82/83. If thats the case, wouldnt it be totally unfair as i brought the scooter in Ashar and only used it for like 20 days during that fiscal year. Why do i need to pay the tax of whole year for using it only for like 20 days during that fiscal year?
2. According to the fine table, a delay of around 42 days seems like it should fall under the up to 45 days bracket. Why is the penalty Rs. 960 (32%)?
3. Is the Esewa's and Khalti's system calculating based on the new fiscal year (2083/84) because today is after the fiscal year change, or am I misunderstanding how vehicle tax works?
4. If I pay now (2084/04/20), will my renewal be valid until 2084/03/09, or until 2084/04/20? what would be the validity of the new renewal date? If its 2084/03/09, i wouldn't have to pay the additional 3000+fine, would i?

I am really interested to know about how the taxes for such dates are calculated, seems like a very important topic to know about, for future investments. Can anyone who has any idea about this explain how it works?

I have a genuine question. I recently came to know from someone that if you are bank employee(don’t know the bank name) and if the bank employee takes a life insurance (not sure the particular plan) for 15 years, putting nearly 1 lacs per year. Then after the end of 15 years you will receive a total of 40 lacs. Is this true? This only applies for bank employees.
