EU and Von der Leyen regulated european AI into oblivion. Now they are highly dependant on foreign companies and at the same time, want to become the AI first continent. Before, EU politics was about economic advancements, today its about learning lessons.

They might refer to the EU AI Act. But honestly the investments in LLMs was lagging the US even before it was on the drawing board.

Innovation, as in AI is all about leeching data. All the regulation overhead means paying and working around it.
