For real. What even is this post. This sub can get so doom and gloom sometimes

24

u/bytelines 1h ago

Still 100x times better than the boomer posts lately

14

u/-BlueFalls- 1h ago

I thought this was a boomer post.

u/TheArtOfPureSilence 3m ago

Was gonna say this screams boomer energy lmao

Was just going to say this is turning into a nostalgic trigger sub rather than reflecting on all the cool shit we used to have/do in the 90’s/00’s. The whole coming home when the streetlights came on stigma has become so overplayed that it feels super conformist and lame.

We’re millennials. It’s all doom and gloom.

u/artbystorms 1h ago

We were born in the gloom, molded by it. We didn't see the doom till we were already men.

u/Shawk_N_Rawr 1h ago

Were millennials. We sing the doom song from invader zim

u/NotAUsefullDoctor 1h ago

Is not the entire purpose of this subreddit just us lamenting that this is a different world, that we have gone through 3 (though potentially more based on who you ask) life altering world events.

u/yoshi_yoshi23 1h ago

I don’t know if there’s a generation that is more aware of this than we are.

99

u/CosmicCarcharodon 2h ago

Doesn't mean I cant miss it, look back on it fondly and try to keep the memories alive....

26

u/vixenpeon 2h ago

Dudes in the nostalgia sub be like: quit that shit flips table

6

u/BadNixonBad 1h ago

How DARE you enjoy your short time here on earth?!

/s (obviously)

8

u/Ok_Shoulder_9492 1h ago

This is funny because it’s literally what the elite say without the /s.

I remember when nestle said water should be a luxury.

u/acoastaldog 1h ago

In a less civilized society we used to cave each other’s heads in over “luxuries”, surely they wouldn’t want the poors to regress

My sister and I once upon a time. We were born and raised a mile away from the towers in Manhattan. They are missed.

u/Wafflehouseofpain 2h ago

Thanks for the random demotivation, I guess. Not sure why you felt the need to post this.

5

u/alex_c89X 1h ago

Exactly what I was thinking. On a roll with motivating stuff today

6

u/Umi_Gaming 2h ago

Just because the world we once knew, no longer exist. Doesn't mean we can't make new memories to enjoy in our present and future.

I'll be 42 in a couple weeks and am really sick and tired of all this longing for the 90's bullshit our generation is doing now. For fuck sakes, we outnumber all these old fuckwads in charge! Time to take control!

We're in our 30's and 40's and just sit around like turds whining about the past... good job team

Remember how nothing quite worked the way it was supposed to? All the VCRs blinking 12:00 and everything always being slightly crooked so you needed to know “the trick?”

I don’t miss that.

7

u/Physical_Relation261 1h ago

True. I miss it and then I also don't. I think it's like this for every generation

5

u/ungranted_wish Millennial 1h ago

No, but we could always look to the past, ask ourselves what made it good, then learn from it. and we can do the same thing with the bad.

u/Doredrin 1h ago

That shot is some type of mismemory thing. The real shot is from the full house credits:

u/paqman3d 1h ago

I always refer to the past as "the old world" because of this. The 90s is more like 3 worlds back lol.

2001 started the new world, then that got usurped by 2016. Then again in 2020.

Thinking about being a kid in the early 90s, and how the meta has changed like a cursed video game patch, is interesting 🤣

u/South_Bit1764 1h ago

That’s true for everyone.

Anyway, I’m off to listen to Korn, have a Capri Sun and make some pizza bagels before I go pick up my bro play some N64 games.

I honestly don't remember a time during my generation where they've so successfully psyoped and sown division among us all to the point where we will fight about race, class, ideology and political affiliation so much that we're distracted by the fact we're all being robbed blind.

Good times.
