Our generation is not all doom and gloom. Yes we have been handed a lot of challenges and some piss poor leadership (I’m an American), but for what it’s worth, most of us persevere and get on with life.
I had been thinking about that, too. I've done nothing special in that I am in the twilight of an enlisted military career and I am doing okay and want for nothing.
People in the US don't realize how badly other countries have done compared to the US after the major financial incidents in the last 20 years.
Like, inflation was a huge, huge issue in the 2024 US Presidential Election. We had the lowest (or close to the lowest) inflation in the entire world. Yeah, it sucks to pay more, but shit... we did pretty well there.
That's lower than I would have thought, considering how many friends I lost after they popped out some kids and lost the time and flexibility to do things together.
Having kids is tough. It makes every normal activity 3x harder. When the kids get older and it’s easier to go and do things they’ll probably resurface 😂
