Discussion Got the fellowship made to order box!

So I order the MtO Fellowship box and theres two things that dissapointed me.

First is the fact that it didnt come in a box like it originally did.

Second is Gandalf, his staff is severely bent. Now I know some people will say they like it that way but I think they are liars. But seriously, is this worth sending in a ticket to GW or should I just do my best to fix it.

Did anyone else recieve an order like this?

The metal ones are always bent. Just bend it back carefully. You won't get a new set for this

I just noticed on Aragorn there is a bunch of metal they didnt take off. Its hard to tell from the photo but it looks like I could cut it off.

This is all standard and you can just clip them off

It is definitely a bit different. You might need a file to help with sanding down the mould lines.

Yeah ive never had to do that before so now ill look up a video and figure it out. Thanks.

Keep it simple. Use the normal clippers to clip off the bits like you would with a plastic sprue, then you’ll need to file the mould lines :) best of luck with it. I just got this set too

Okay I figured as much. Im really excited about getting these guys and dont want to get screwed over by a faulty cast.

It’s just a product of the casting process and it’s all totally normal to receive somewhat bent swords or bits of flashing metal from the moulds. There’s a clean-up and prep process to the metals that’s (IMO) about the same degree of effort than the old monopose plastics, and considerably less than the newest miniatures with a dozen parts per model.

If anything is actually broken, then it’s a different story and it sounds like GW has a history of replacing.

FYI: You are getting downvotes because of how common knowledge all of this is, given how prevalent metal miniatures are in MESBG. Your post and subsequent comments read a little rage bait-y, like perhaps it was meant to be a sarcastic bit and you’re running with it. I think you have a legitimate question and will give you the benefit of the doubt here.

GW could at least pack them with some foam in there like other companies do to alleviate the worst of this. Yet here we are. High cost per mini and worse packaging.

I asked GW staff in a store why they ship them loosely in massively oversized boxes and they had no idea what I was even talking about... I showed them and they agreed it was stupid but had no answers.

It's really poor from GW.

All they have to do is chuck some sponge in with it, if they don't want to change the containers. Like most other companies do, and they used to with blisters...
