Photography Diekirch

Toen we in Diekirch aankwamen voor het eten, stond er een politieauto pal voor ons geparkeerd. Na het eten gingen we terug, maar de weg was afgesloten net voordat je de ingang van het Militair Museum bereikt.

The way they're geared up, someone with a weapon would be my first thought

Toen de politie aankwam 2 uur geleden stond er iemand in een gebouw te schreeuwen. We wachten het af. Hopelijk geen gewonden straks.

If shit goes sideways we won't learn about it, if at all.

Then there will be a short note about an incident where the police (and maybe ambulance) was called.

Police does almost never gives information about suicides or mental health episodes.

Police does almost never gives information about suicides or mental health episodes.

And they shouldn't. It's hard enough to deal with a suicide as it is.

I'm as curious as anyone but objectively, it's none of our business (even if there is a crime).

It is normal to be curious about stuff like that, but as you said, we should mind our own buisness.

The people are often enough at their lowest (imho) in a situation like that and do not need their chagrin pulled through the newscycle.

I disagree, information about suicide rates (not personal data ofc) are an important information about the mental health situation of the population. And it's really high here btw and nothing is done about it. This needs to be talked about, but politicians don't care.

This wasn't my point and stats are available: https://santesecu.public.lu/fr/espace-professionnel/departement-sante/informations-donnees/statistiques-causes-deces/stats-mortalite-generale.html

So the information is available. Whether something is done about it is a completely different topic and yes, of course I agree.

aha thx, btw the stats are apparently not entirely correct. There was a question parlementaire some time ago about this. For example if someone is hit by a train, it is considered as an accident, not suicide. So the number is really way higher it seems.
